Gestational Diabetes with Rebecca Pardess Jul 11, 2019
    Show notes

In this episode of the Juna Women Podcast we talk about Gestational Diabetes, including who is at risk, how and when to get tested, and what to do if you get a positive diagnosis. The craziest part about Gestational Diabetes, and was true in Becca's case, is that about 40–60% of women have no demonstrable risk factor. Typically, women exhibit no symptoms, which is why many advocate that all women be tested.

Gestational diabetes affects ~3–9% of pregnancies. It is especially common during the last three months of pregnancy. It affects 1% of those under the age of 20 and 13% of those over the age of 44.

The One Thing Every Mom Needs In Her Mom Community with Amy Toohey Jun 17, 2019
    Show notes

In this episode I chat with my good friend and chief receiver of all my Mom complaints, Amy Toohey.

Amy is a Mom to two wonderful girls and was a nurse before making the game time decision to put her career on hold and stay at home with her daughters.

Amy and I talk about her unexpected C-Section, the Challenges of Breastfeeding and the magic six week number, and how she plans to go back to work once her daughters are in school full-time.

The biggest takeaway from this episode was our realization that every Mom must have this one thing in her Mom community and that we provided it for each other. There are a lot of great nuggets in here, so I hope you enjoy :-)
