Holy Cow Can She Race! Katie Hettinger Thunders into the Cars Tour and begins Thinning the Herd Sep 11, 2023

A third-generation racer from Dryden, Michigan, she attended her first race at just four weeks old. By age five, she was racing Quarter Midgets, and at 12, she had transitioned to full-bodied stock cars in the Champion Racing Association (CRA) Junior Late Model Series.

By 14 she became the youngest female race winner at North Carolina’s famed Hickory Motor Speedway, known as the Birthplace of NASCAR Stars and today at 16, she is one of the brightest and recognizable fan favorites of the CARS Pro Late Model Tour.

It’s only fitting that a two-time world champ is back for her second visit on our show. She’s a small-town Kansas girl who’s been able to. and continues to fulfill her racing dreams while helping others realize their own.

She holds the record for fastest pro sportsman female in the 1/8^th and quarter mile which she needs to keep up with her new son, Henry and as her dad says, “You have to stay ahead of the game, or you’ll get left behind.”

Today, in addition to climbing back into the game, she empowers the next generation of racers, by teaching the skills necessary to build a solid foundation for becoming a full-time racer.
