    Today - John chats with Simon and Julie for their "We're Still Here" segment. Simon Moya-Smith is an Oglala Lakota and Chicano journalist. He’s a contributing writer at NBC News and TheNation.com. Julie Francella is a mental health professional with over 30 years of experience in handling complex trauma with Indigenous youth and families. She is an enrolled member of the Ojibway of Batchewana First Nation Reserve, and teaches Indigenous Studies at Durham College, focusing on the impacts of colonization on First Nations people. Then, John interviews Tripp Whetsell who's an author and adjunct media studies professor at Emerson College in Boston. As an entertainment journalist, he has covered TV, film, comedy and other aspects of popular culture for more than two decades. They discuss his background and his newly released book "Norman Lear: His Life and Times".

He also discusses the outrage of people who are fed up with America's health care system and the corruption that is killing people. Then, he interviews Hope Giselle who is an author, artist, trans activist and representative of the National Black Justice Collective's Good Trouble Network. She was the first openly Black trans woman to speak at the 60th anniversary of the March on Washington earlier this year. Hope was at the Supreme Court yesterday, one of hundreds rallying outside as the rights of transgender youth in the state of Tennessee were argued before the court. Next, John chats with Glenn from Mississippi about health insurance companies and V.A. benefits. And winding it up, John discusses Elon's new job and takes calls from attorney Marie in Atlanta and flower girl Rachel in Los Angeles on the midtown shooter and the support of Biden's pardon to Hunter.
