Show 413 – Things We Shouldn’t Talk About
Mar 24, 2021
It’s been a hell of a week, and our buddy Brian stops by the Temple to sum it all up with us. The Fort Worth music scene has had some bad players doing bad things, there were a couple of shootings as America starts to return to normal, Biden fell down, vaccines are available for everyone, and tampering with RNA can accelerate the chances to get Cancer. Yay! Brian has a show at Hyena’s this Thursday night, you can attend by RSVPing here.
This show is FIRE! The boys are joined this week by Dustin’s sister-in-law Shawna who is in town from the West Coast. The conversation is wild and all over the place from talking about the boys trip to Austin, to DMT trips, to stupid people posting all their information on social media after getting their vaccine. It gets pretty intense and Dustin wants to burn the Temple down now. So sit back, relax, and enjoy the ride!
Show 411 – The Road Soda Enters the Temple
Mar 11, 2021
This week we welcome Todd, better known by his stage name the Road Soda, into the Temple to chat with him about what he’s been up to since he left the DFW area a few years ago. Joining him this week is our friends Jeffery Lord and Susie Ramone. It’s a good time around the horn as we all slam down some of the latest offerings from Blue Owl Brewing down in Austin. Speaking of Austin, we return to its perfumed inner thigh this weekend to shoot the first JJTM Road Trip episode.
Show 410 – Katie Johnson Enters The Temple
Mar 03, 2021
Katie Johnson is running for Fort Worth City Council District 3 in the election coming up on May 1st, 2021. She has some pretty good ideas to help bring the Westside of Fort Worth back to its once former greatness. Katie, along with her friend Mimi stopped by this week to fill us in on all she has planned. One of her constituents, and our good friend, Aaron Sanchez stops by too, tossing up some fastballs at Katie. It’s a super local political conversation this week, we’re sorry to our affiliates outside of the DFW area, but it’s time to take care of a few things in our own backyard because this is where it all really matters.
After one crazy-ass week here in North Texas, we are back in the Temple live and a few of our friends are here with us. Anthony Sosa, Gleen Wallace, and Michael Garcia came by to talk about a new little record label they are firing up called Local Famous Records. They drop the dirt on the label lineup so far and we listen to a few tunes. Check them out on all social media, youtube, etc, and check out the Spring 2021 trailer here.
Surprise! I bet you didn’t think we’d get a show out this week did you? Especially since Mother Nature decided to unleash her wrath on all of Texas. The Temple hasn’t had power for days and it’s turned into a cold dark grotto drenched with the scent of old sex and dirty socks. Dustin went days without power, and Matt is still lost deep in the wilderness, surviving on the flesh of those less fortunate. Last summer our friend Susie Ramone wrote an article for the Fort Worth Weekly featuring the Jerry Jonestown Massacre. She did her pre interview in the Temple and of course we had to roll tape on it. Since we can’t do a real live show this week, here is the audio from her interview. Enjoy, and we’ll be back next week as long as Mother Nature chills out.
Why is there a Chinese star in the image above? It was taken from the Super Bowl Jeep ad, and it’s kinda shocking. Dustin took a trip to far West Texas, Matt had a fun time with a Lyft driver. The Super Bowl Happened and Tom Brady is apparently a racist for winning during Black History Month. The mother of all rollercoasters is being built, and Army Hammer likes eating his girlfriend’s ribs. Then there is Space People!
Another week and more Covid fun, but we try not to focus on that aspect too much. Dustin finds out about Now That’s What I Call Dad Rock and the boys see if the track list really is “dad rock”. Marylin Manson is a creep, but who didn’t already know that. Also a ridiculous list about bands and the songs they have played the most live. There are also 2 flasks left in this batch! Order now!
We have a new president but Bernie stole the show. Presidential parties suck. Elites suck. Something odd has happened to Jon Bon Jovi. Demi Lavato needs to swing by the Temple. Katy Perry is insane and Joe Biden had no idea who she was. We tried to sell flasks to our live listeners. And then there’s Garth Brooks…
We figured we better hurry up and get this posted while the world isn’t on fire and the internet gets shut down. We make fun of everything going on in the world of politics this week as Biden gets sworn in and Trump hits the road. It was Dustin’s birthday this weekend and an appearance on Fort Worth Famous was made. There’s a little bit of Pearl Jam talk as well as the best 90’s hard rock and metal albums.
Show 403 – Fist in the Air in the Land of Hypocrisy
Jan 14, 2021
It’s been an interesting week, thats for sure. Some stuff happened up in Washington DC, and Manchester United took over the top of the EPL Table. We try to sort through everything and figure things out the best way we can with our buddies Dante, Jason, and Brian. It’s a week of common guy opinions, yellow cards, and white Russians.
Well here we go, the first week of the new year and we have already broke out the flamethrower. Susie joins us again this week, yay! Mountain of Smoke and New Magnetic North have released new albums, double yay! Betsy Price says she’s done, yay! Matt has things to get off his chest, yay! Dustin is pissed about some ideas that were stolen, yay! We map out the future year for JJTM with some quarterly shows that should be fun, Yay! Let’s burn this whole world down and start it all over again.
Show 401 – 2020, Please Exit the Building
Dec 30, 2020
This is it, the end of 2020, and somehow we all no longer have our pants on. Some of us like drunk sex, some of us have big regrets, and some of those regrets might be videos of ourselves. We were all supposed to kicking 2020’s ass out the door, but things got a little haywire along the way. Our friends Ivy, Susie, Robotuner, and Brian fill out the temple tonight as we have a lot of fun. So break out your champagne and charcuterie boards, dine on some energy, and join us in giving the big middle finger to 2020.
We’ve somehow made it to 400 of these things. It’s probably actually a little bit more with the point 5 shows sprinkled in here and there, but this one makes it official. Matt back this week, and our buddy David O’Hearn hangs out too. We talk about getting our remains blasted into space, Robotuner meeting Darth Maul, stories from our tours in NAMM, Sabastian Bach, and why Dr Fauci is creepy.
Show 399.5 – An Insignificantly Famous Funkytown Massacre
Dec 16, 2020
Understandably after the events of last week, Stubb’s sat this week out. He’s still dealing with things but wants everyone to know that he appreciates the love and support they have sent, and he’ll be back next week. So in order to fill his shoes this week, Dustin took his friends up on their offer to fill in. Susie, Matt, and Jeff came over and did all the heavy lifting. They really made this show a breeze and help me escape for a few hours. We also want to send thoughts to our “JJTM Austin Producer” Jeremie this week for his loss. We are here for you brother!
I’m not even sure what to say about this weeks episode. Hug your loved ones, tell them you love them, and make sure you cherish the time you get to spend with them.
Matt returns and the boys go on a ranting spree. A little bit of time is spent just trying to figure out what the hell is going on in the world and how we are slowly letting our guard down about Hipaa laws thanks to Covid. Dustin becomes a felon overnight thanks to new laws that can be turned on and turned off whenever the wind blows. Mike Tyson returns, the Cowboys lose, the football season is on the brink of disaster, there is now country dubstep, and the boys want to be roasted. Darth Vader has left this earthly realm.
It’s Thanksgiving week and the boys from FTW visit the Temple fresh after a great show at Lola’s Trailer Park. The conversation bounces all over the place, from recording at Cloudland, to Nick’s knives, to life at Sturgis, to boondocking. It’s a nice chill evening of fun conversation. Go subscribe to Nick’s youtube channel NOW!
Our good friends Ian McKenyon and Juma Spears joined us this week, and it’s always a good time when either on of them come and hang out with us. Ian catches up on what he’s been up to and what is going on in the Garage Barrage camp, and Juma catches us up on his training and fighting. Stubbs can’t hear out of one ear thank to Kahn’s earwick, and Dustin gripes about apartments popping up all over Fort Worth. It’s all just another fun evening in the Temple.
This one is going to upset some people, so go ahead and get ready to send your emails to jerryjonestownmassacre@gmail.com. Our buddy Brian Breckenridge joins us this week as we try to sweep up a few items and calm some folks down after a crazy election week. Dustin finally uncovers the research he’s been doing for the past few months on social media. And the quest for the game show GOAT arises with the passing of Alex Trebek. This one is fun all the way through.
It’s election night and The Boiled Owl was gracious enough to let us come and spend the evening in their fine establishment. The world didn’t end, nor did we even find out who was going to be president, but we had a huge assortment of friends stop by and chat with us. In order of appearance:
Autumn Brackeen, Susie Ramone, Matt Thomas, A Comedian, Tony Green, Hayden Miller, Tyler Vela, Joe Tacke, Rebekah Elizabeth, Sammy Kidd, Jeffery Chase, Koline Jardine, and Steve Steward.
Thank you again to the crew of The Boiled Owl for letting us come out and spend election night with you guys!
Stubbs went to vote today and thought it was time to celebrate. We had some pre-show drinks at a local establishment and ran into some good friends and drug them into the Temple. One is really familiar, the other two are making their debut appearance on this show. Stubbs and Dustin do some more pre-election ranting and try to put a few wild ideologies that are floating around to rest. Our friends the Royal Sons are playing this Saturday at Lola’s Trailer Park. Come in or out of costume, either way, wear a damn mask, please!
Our good buddy Tony Diaz swings by the Temple tonight to bring us a couple of awards, but more importantly to catch up on what’s been going on in his part of the world. We talk about the Fort Worth Weekly, the Music Awards, and the closing of the Moon Bar. Then things get a little loud as we discuss the correlation between Main Stream Media and Social Media, and their effects on this upcoming election. We also talk about voter intimidation and local keyboard warriors that say “they can’t be your friend if you don’t vote the same way as them.” Tony always brings great conversation to the show, and it’s always fun sitting down and talking with him.
This week Uncle Toasty enters the Temple and we explore what the mind of Jeffery Chase has put together. The rest of the band is here too, and you might recognize a few of their voices. We also discuss how the band is dealing with playing live and creating music under the current covid conditions. We also debut the first song from Uncle Toasty, “Pneumothorax”.
Show 389 – Autumn, Tony, and Jay…What More Is There To Say
Sep 30, 2020
I can’t imagine a better way to spend debate night than with these guys. If there is Fort Worth royalty then these three would be part of the family. Autumn Brackeen (The Boiled Owl, Tarantula Tiki Lounge), Tony Green (Hello, I’m Tony Green), and Jay Wilkinson (Fort Worth artist extraordinaire) entered the Temple last night and the result was a great night ignoring the two screaming heads on the television. We talk about the goings-on in Fort Worth, what everyone has been doing during quarantine, and the weird and whacky alcohol laws all while under the influence of fresh Zombies.
Also our buddy Robotuner released his debut solo record this week. It’s available on all streaming platforms. go check it out!
It’s just the boys this week as they rip into teachers, cops, and just about anyone else that has an authoritative role in society. Not really though, it’s just another fun Tuesday night in the Temple.
Look at what the cat dragged in this week! It’s our buddy Juma, and if you’ve heard any of the other times he’s come in and hung out with the boys, you know you are in for a wild, wild, ride. This episode totally lives up to it too. The boys are excited that the Dallas Stars are going to the Stanley Cup for the first time in 20 years, and they are super stoked about making the cover of the Fort Worth Weekly. If you haven’t read the story, it’s available here. After that everything just seems to fall apart.
Show 386 – Hockey Night in the Temple
Sep 09, 2020
The Dallas Stars are playing game 2 of the Western Conference and it’s totally interfering with this week’s show. You’d think the NHL would contact the boys to make sure their schedules didn’t collide. But the boys still deliver rants about the current situation of things and people being stupid. Plus the ultimate booze cruise, the disaster that was Sturgis, Uber wants to go electric, and Austin Caps City shuts its doors. The boys also break down the Cowboys schedule since the NFL starts this weekend.
Our good friend, Matt “Robotuner” Thomas, stops by this week to give us a little preview of his upcoming solo album, Greetings. We go through a couple of tracks as well as open the show with Harpy, his take on doom metal, and close with the classic Rosedale Girl. We also steal a bit from our comrades on the West Coast, The Bed Files, as Dustin plays a little game Not Blurt. Oh and back this week is also Brian? Just another fun week in the Temple.
Show 384 – Two Dudes Doing Dude Things
Aug 26, 2020
It’s just the boys this week, and it’s a good thing because they are on fire. Aggravated and irritated by just about everything going on, the boys go on a tirade of rants, but not until talking about the most famous cuckold happening right now!
Show 383 – Brian Is Put Out To Pasture
Aug 20, 2020
We knew this day would come, the day Brian would catch rabies and we would have to put him down. No, no, no Brian actually is moving on to greener pastures with a new job that will keep him away from the Temple on Tuesdays. As for Matt and Dustin they are still recovering from an actioned packed episode of Fort Worth Famous they attended on Sunday. Speaking of FWF, queen bee Susie Ramone comes over and hangs out with us because her cable and internet “just happens to be out”, wink, wink. We all know she missed us!
Stubbs is out this week (keep him in your prayers) so we had to make a call out to the bullpen and called up our good buddy Jeffery Lord to come in and hang out. We talk about the chaos that happened post show last week, a couple of crazy conspiracy theories, why this election offers no hope, SpaceX, and the Pirate says goodbye.
It’s been seven years of ridiculousness and this show pretty much sums it all up. Our friends Susie Ramone, Matt Thomas, birthday boy David O’hearn, and Brian Breckenridge help us polish off an entire bottle of Greenore Irish Whiskey during the recording of this episode. Add in a bunch of voice mails from our friends, a new bit from “corporate”, and a few Cameos and it gets pretty wild. Thank you to EVERYONE that has listened and partaken in our show over these last seven years. It’s been a lot of fun, and what makes it great for us is knowing you are listening and enjoying it. Our original goal was to provide some sort of escape for us, but it seems that with how things are going in the world, we are providing an escape for you. We love you all!!!
It’s the boys this week tackling all the hot topics of the day, you know like cleaning equipment after the gym after you use it, and Covidiots. Dustin trolls a Redumbican Karen and hunts down Neowise. Matt has classy dating tactics and wonders about hallucinating on frog juice. Kanye West has his first rally and it was a disaster. The Clinton’s hire a horrible hitman. Sports are coming back and Houston has a drive-through strip club. Next week is our 7 year anniversary, keep those cameos coming!
This week the boys do a reboot of their series covering the history of metal with special guest host Chris Ryan. Over the next few months they plan to dive into the history and different movements of heavy metal and its hundreds of subgenera. Also sitting in this week is Susie Ramone and Brian Breckenridge as a foundation and background of everyones love of metal is set.
Show 377 – Where Did Those Fingers Go?
Jul 08, 2020
The Boys are back at full strength with only one desire, to fight Covid with the serum of skunk spray. This week Dustin has a public freak out, there are a bunch of firework narcs in our midst, Chicago, The Rail Cub, and Ghisliene Maxwell. The boys also make a small request for their upcoming anniversary. Just another fun filled week at JJTM.
Stubb’s had to check out this week so the call was made for our buddy Robotuner ? to take his spot. Brian is also back as we sat around and talked about what’s going on, Dustin’s weekend trip, The Dungeon of Castle Fujiwah, bison goring, Parts unknown, and Covid panties.
Show 375 – Riding the Wheels of Steel
Jun 24, 2020
Matt rants about Abbott, Dustin rants about statues, and Brian rants about the things they rant about. Seinfeld was a show about nothing; Well this is a show about aggravation.
Show 374 – Juma Returns to the Temple
Jun 17, 2020
Our good friend Juma Spears returns to the Temple this week after an absence of far too long. Like normal, things go all over the place, but this is one of the funniest and best conversations we’ve had in a while. It’s long (that’s what she said)!
Another week in this crazy world we live in, and we are here just trying to figure things out. Our buddy Brian is back to help us muddle through everything too!
It’s been an interesting and emotional week in an already whacky and wild year. Our friends Dante and Sosa came and hung out in the Temple to share thoughts and feelings about everything that is going on in our country right now. Fort Worth has had some beautiful, and for the most part, non-violent protests that both Sosa and Dustin have attended. This is a long episode that gets heated and emotional at times, but it’s a conversation that needs to be had.
This week gets wild and angry as our buddy Brian Breckenridge returns to the Temple and comes out on fire! We are all angry, from the lies, the name-calling, the bullying, and of course all the conspiracies. Space X flings a couple of guys up into space, there was a strange and tragic death in Grapevine that no one reported on, and someone has actually been hit by a meteorite. It’s always a fun time when Brian stops by, even though we all seem a little cranky on this one.
Show 370 – Murder, Sex, and the Occult.
May 20, 2020
This week the Temple slowly begins to return to normal as Susie Ramone and Jennifer Smith stop by and hang out. Jennifer tracked down some of the elusive Balcones Texas Bock and brought it over to tempt our taste buds with. Susie dropped a bomb on Dustin last week, and revealed that she had connections to one of the most publicized murders in Nipomo, that ended up effecting the band Slayer. It’s an odd tale that weaves all over the place. Dustin nearly loses Roxy, has poison sumac, and is still on the hunt for a cat. Matt lets a stranger give him edibles. Just another fine and dandy week here at the JJTM.
Show 369 – This One Has Gone to Shizzzzt!
May 13, 2020
This week our buddy Jason decided to break out of quarantine and stopped by to help us test out the new studio setup. It’s been almost 8 weeks since the new studio design and we haven’t been able to have another guest in. We talk about things going on, and if we will ever return to normalcy. We also opened up this week for “Ask Us Anything” questions and we hit upon those before diving off into darkness. Here’s a fun drinking game this week, see how many times we lose complete control of our own show and take a shot!
Keeping well outside of our social distance boundaries, Ian McKenyon from Garage Barrage joins us from his side of Tarrant County this week. We see what’s been going on in his world since quarantine and the current state of affairs with Garage Barrage. We bitch about the Basement Bar, Matt is now an Audible superstar, Dustin does odd stuff, and there is Andy Dick. Please don’t eat your neighbors!
Here we are, another week filled with chaos in the world around us. Gov Abbott wants to open the state back up but the numbers in North Texas are still climbing, and for some reason residents are more worried about getting their margarita on then living. The Basement Bar is ran by a bunch of ignorant assholes or marketing geniuses. But most importantly it’s Mean Motor Scooter week with a new EP being released this Friday, May 1st and a live stream that night on MASS’s social media pages.
It’s just the boys again during another week under the thumb of Covid tyranny, or tranny. Spelling doesn’t seem to matter, neither does social distancing, caring for your neighbor, or doing your part in getting past this point in history. We try to break down what the hell is wrong with these people protesting, why people are so f’ing stupid, and why everyone is in a damn hurry to open everything back up when numbers are still rising. We also make a couple of phone calls to our friends, Marlin and Rus. Commercials are brainwashing you, Betsy Price might be infected, and a weird trifecta dock block. So if you are going to strap on your AR or AK and protest, pop this show in your ears and send us a picture of you being a complete moron. Hopefully you’ve never seen Tool live! No Funeral.
Show 365 – Peter and the Meat Triangle.
Apr 15, 2020
It’s been 10 years since Peter Steele passed away, so we try and reach out to him at the start of the show. It’s just Matt and Dustin again this week as we trudge through our 5th week of corona-quarantine and we might be on the verge of losing our minds. There has been music created, opinions formed, and escape plans formed. We really don’t say this enough, but we love and thank every one of you guys that continue to listen and support our show.
Show 364 – The Topic Wheel of Aggravation
Apr 08, 2020
Another week under quarantine and we spend this one in the studio six feet apart! Matt’s in control of the topic wheel this week and we bounce a little bit all over the place. Dustin has a list of “10 things he hates that everyone seems to enjoy”, but without the part with things “that other people seem to enjoy.” It’s another fun week with just us out in the temple.
Show 363 – Split Your Covid Lungs With Blood and Thunder
Apr 01, 2020
Stubbs is back this week, in a whole new Temple layout. Of course, we talk about what’s going on and the crazy stuff we’ve been through, what it’s like dealing with people right now, and of course shame those that can’t seem to stay away from each other. We also get to the bottom of why Stubbs hates Kenny Rogers, local speakeasies, and Tiger King. We also share our love of Shine Your Heart and Brutal Beerworks.
Hours before the Tarrant County shelter in place goes into full effect our buddy Matt Thomas once again joins the show as the fake Matt Stubbs. Now that Stubbs is a Dallas County resident he was forced to stay at his house or he would feel the full wrath of the Dallas Police force rain down on him. So Thomas and Dustin chat about everything going on, the streams everyone seems to be having, and a bunch of odd things that seem to be happening. Who knows what the future of the show will be, like everyone else, we are living week to week.
It’s been an interesting week in the world, and it’s been particularly interesting in watching how or local officials handle things. For once it seems that Dallas got something right, while at the same time Betsy Price and her cronies completely dropped the ball on keeping our city safe. Steve Steward wrote an amazing article for Central Track that’s worth checking out. Our pals Susie Ramone and Matt Thomas swung by to keep their distance but still hang out and talk Covid-19, stupid people, and conspiracy theories, all while knocking out half a bottle of Willett Pot Still Bourbon.
Covid-19 is now in Tarrant County, so we’re gonna party like it’s 2020. With everything shutting down or postponing, summer is looking like it’s gonna be pretty weak. Dustin thinks Joe Biden is a complete dumbass, on the level of an oxygen thief. Matt likes Netflix and the DMA. Dustin also has an interesting comparison to make that is eye-opening. It’s just the boys this week because let’s face it, we’re all gonna die.
Show 359 – The Mammal Virus Enters The Temple
Mar 04, 2020
Call it coincidence or just extremely timely that Lance and Zach from the Mammal Virus swung by the Temple on Super Tuesday. But not just any Super Tuesday, this Tuesday was also Zach’s Birthday. So, of course, Zach has some drinks while Lance catches us up on all things going on in the world of Mammal Virus. Naturally, that leads to Corona Virus and all the fun things going on with it, including panic, fear, and chaos. The Mammal Virus are playing their first show in 2 years at Growl on March 14th, be there or be a loser.
Show 358 – Holdin’ With The Royal Sons
Feb 26, 2020
You don’t have to “threaten us with a good time” when the boys from the Royal Sons pay a visit to the Temple. And when the alcohol is flowing and the ADD is kicking in, the show goes off the rails really quick. The Royal SOns are playing a huge show at The Granada on March 13th with the Polydogs and Crystal Rippers. Moreinfo and tickets can be found here.
Just days before they drop their newest album The Sound of Love Burning, Josh and the Jet Noise swing by the Temple to do a little bit of promoting. They will be celebrating the release this Friday night at MASS with Chancy, Bruce Magnus, and Pablo and the Hemphill Seven. In other news, Dustin visited a new brewery, Matt found him a new show to stream, Dallas has a new Star Wars pop up bar, there are way too many concerts coming this summer, and there is an epic trip to NYC being brewed.
It’s an odd and confusing week around here as the boys are forced to do their show on a Sunday night. The ladies from Fort Worth Famous join us in the Temple since they were sharing the facilities with us. And by facilities, we don’t mean the restroom. It’s a quick show this week with a little bit of Oscar talk, some celebrity nudity, and a weird turn to death row talk. The boys also make an appearance on this week’s Fort Worth Famous talking about love and Valentine’s day. Go vote for on the Central Track Music Honors ballot, link is below:
Show 355 – Matthew and Trista Enter The Temple
Feb 05, 2020
This week Matthew Broyles and Trista Morris stopped by the Temple this week to talk podcasts, art, Secondlife, and a whole bunch of other stuff. Dustin has a little rant about the Post at River East before the room dives into the Super Bowl and sexism in this modern era. Eventually, everything rolls around to putting all world leaders on trial and heading off to planet Matt. We discuss playing swinger parties, orgies in Secondlife, and bars with chicken wire across the stage. A few drummers have passed away, and then there is Courtney…Just another typical ADHD episode of the JJTM!
It’s just the boys this week on the Jerry Jonestown Massacre, and they immediately get into the tragic news of Kobe, his daughter, and the other passengers that were on the helicopter. The NTSB had a press conference just before the show began that gave out some wild information about how things appear to have happened. Then the conversation lightens up as the conversation turns to Tool, Mule Alley, MASS, Corona Virus, a new venue in the Design District, and Fortress Fest. Also, our friends in the Bed Files sent us a recipe book that is quite creamy and our buddy Marlin stopped by and brought Dustin a badass book of Kozik’s art.
Show 353 – Bruce Magnus Enter The Temple
Jan 22, 2020
After a successful journey out to the West Coast, the boys are back and sitting down with the greatness of Bruce Magnus.
The Bruce Magnus boys have just wrapped up recording their second album with Joe Tacke and are plotting a plan for global dominance over the next few months. It was fun to sit down with them and see what kinda magic they have up their sleeves.
Show 352 – Fort Worth Famous Episode 1
Jan 14, 2020
Matt and Dustin hit the road this week and head out west for a weekend full of NAMM partying. Instead of putting together a show real quick, the boys thought they’d give the reins to Ivy and Susie and let them debut the pilot episode of their brand new podcast Fort Worth Famous. Each episode the ladies plan on talking about the great city of Fort Worth and the places, people, and things that make it famous. In this first episode, they introduce themselves and get the ball rolling with their agenda. Give it a listen and give them a like or send them a message on their Facebook page! We hope you enjoy it and will see you guys next week!
Show 351 – Hello 2020, Goodbye Cruel World
Jan 09, 2020
The boys start 2020 off with a nice chilled out show in the Temple. Yes, World War 3 is on the brink of happening. Yes, it just so happened that Iran launched a volley of missiles into Iraq. Yes, we probably won’t be around for much longer, so why not laugh? Next week the boys will be headed out west to sunny California, but there will be a super surprise presentation while they are gone. So tune in and give it a listen!
2019 is coming to an end and just like we do every year, we have out friends Jeff, Susie, and Matt over to talk about their favorite things of the year. See, unlike some other outlets, we do our Best of 2019 at the actual end of 2019. But first, we have to find out why Stubbs is fascinated with Applebee’s, what the hell happened at the Moon Bar, there was a pretty rocking fun house party, the Cowboys won but lost, and some dumb ass thought it was a good idea to shoot up a church…again.
It was a fun and interesting year, and somehow it worked out to end on our 350th show.
Show 349 – The Rise Of Skywalker Roundtable
Dec 23, 2019
I’m not going to lie, this is one of my favorite episodes we have ever done. Not only is it a roundtable of amazing friends, but it’s discussing a subject that is all near and dear to our heart. It seems that no matter what an individual’s political allegiance might be, the passion of Star Wars will bring everyone together. And this is a round table of 9 individuals that are extremely passionate about Star Wars and how it has shaped their life. My thanks to Ashley, Susie, Matt, Jessie, Dante, Will, and Aaron for joining Matt and me this week to discuss the conclusion of the Skywalker Saga. I love each and every one of these souls and their opinions on one of the greatest stories that happened in a galaxy far far away… – Dustin
Show 348 – T-Minus Two Days
Dec 18, 2019
It’s 2 days until the boys get to sit down and watch the Skywalker Saga come to an end. It’s also 2 weeks until the end of the decade and the Jerry Jonestown Massacre reaches Show 350. Sounds like the perfect time to say goodbye! #TheEndofJJTM
Show 347 – Click, Subscribe, Like Our Pad Cost
Dec 11, 2019
It’s just the boys this week and they start things off talking sickness and fly wear before receiving pseudo coverage of the Dallas Observer Music Awards from Mean Motor Scooters’ Joe Tacke. The boys then start rolling through a bunch of the crap that’s been going on and clogging up our local newscasts. They end the show by talking about how much a shit show this election is going to be and how scary things are getting for those that are vocal about their opposition, when in actuality it doesn’t matter.
Here’s you a warning right up front, this show is completely insane. From our understanding, there is a chapter of gentlemen up in Denton that don’t have anything to do with the reformation of the USSR. They call themselves The Connoisseurs’ Club of Smoking and Drinking. From our best estimation, they like to make beer, hang out, and drink the beer they make. Our friend Chris Koliba stops by the Temple with a couple of the other members to tell us about this huge event they have coming up this weekend, Yületyde 2019. Things got really whacky for a little bit here, but if you like bands, beer, smoking, and beards, this event sounds like a lot of fun.
It’s Thanksgiving week, so we look back on that evil night and the events that happened 6 years ago. We believe that we can legally talk about everything that happened, if not we do anyway. We also didn’t realize that Heim BBQ was the inventor of Bacon Burnt Ends?!? And more stuff is bounced back and forth between us that probably isn’t that important.
Show 344 – Tim Dillon Enters The Temple
Nov 25, 2019
Comedian Tim Dillon was in Fort Worth for a weekend of standup at Hyenas. Tim is not only known for his standup but also for his podcast aptly named “The Tim Dillon Show”. You may have also seen him on Netflix or some of his hilarious impersonation videos on YouTube. Thanks to our buddy Brian Breckenridge, Dustin was able to hang out with Tim over the weekend helping him do his podcast. Tim sat down and did a quick interview with Dustin, and it turned out to be an interesting glimpse inside Tim’s brain. Thank you Tim for a fun weekend, and thank you Brian for the hookup!
Music this week is brought to you by the Me-Thinks
This week was a treat as Wrex, Dru, Caroline, & Moody swung by the Temple to fill us in on everything going on in their world. We are on the cusp of Bruce Leroy being unleashed upon us, and we are pretty excited for it to drop. Matt has been sober for 19 days and will probably die in a strip club. Dustin talks about spending the weekend with Tim Dillon (audio of that coming soon). It’s just another fun night hang out with some really cool cats that we enjoy!
This week’s episode is produced by Dustin Schneider and recorded in the Temple of Eye.
It’s the monthly contractual show where it’s only Matt and Dustin sitting down in the Temple. The boys talk about The Mandalorian, The Dickies Arena, and Fakesgiving. Then they dive into dating, drinking, being a creep, and puppy love. Then things just keep continuing to get weird.
Show 341 – Goodbye to the Funkytown Podcast
Nov 06, 2019
It’s the end of an era as Jeff and Susie join the boys in the Temple this week to celebrate and say goodbye to the Funkytown Podcast. But before we get too deep into the goodbyes, Dustin reaches for the flamethrower and torches the dumpster fire that happened this week involving a few musicians and a local radio station. Matt is sober for November and is on the hunt for a Popeyes sandwich. The real celebration though is this Saturday night at MASS for the Funkytown Podcast Fakesgiving Celebration. Open Mic starts at 8pm followed by Wrex, Joe Savage, and Garage Barrage. Be there because it’s going to be a hell of an evening!
Our buddy Brian Breckenridge drops by the Temple this week to enjoy Game Six of the World Series and talk comedy and what he has coming up over the next couple of months. The boys drink a 16% squid ink beer, talk about the Do For It Halloween Shows, and there is some controversy about the tightness of the Fort Worth music scene.
It’s that time of year when the Do For It Halloween Show rolls arrives and everyone becomes the alter egos they have chosen. We are at Casa De Spectacle before one of the final Drag The Ocean practices, hanging out, and talking crap about everything going on. The shows commence this Friday at MASS in Fort Worth and Saturday at Andy’s in Denton. Come out and let’s have some fun!
No reason to beat around the bush about this one, we’re angry and this one is heavy. If you are a fan of FWPD and the way they have conducted themselves as well as the administration in this city over the course of the last week, then you may not want to listen to this one. BUT if you are a fan of good old hardcore music in the vein of what was coming out of DC in the 80’s, then the Phorids got you covered. After a crazy few days of seeing our city in the negative national spotlight, it was good to sit down with these guys and hash it all out!
Show 337 – Ryker Hall Enters The Temple
Oct 09, 2019
Ryker Hall is a very busy man and he stopped by the studio this week to sit down with us for a little bit before heading off to do a show at MASS. The conversation went everywhere, but most importantly we found out about the white in all of our eyes, that UFOs are real, and to always wear yellow while visiting Samson Park.
Show 336 – Our Last Resort, Burn It Down
Oct 02, 2019
This week the boys are under constant attack as they try and do the show. It’s complete chaos and is best viewed on the YouTube stream, but if you don’t have that luxury then here’s the audio!
Show 335 – Best of 2019 With Jeff Prince
Sep 25, 2019
It’s that time of year again, where the Fort Worth Weekly reveals who are the best of the best in Tarrant County. This year we are joined by Jeff Prince, Associate Editor at the Fort Worth Weekly. Jeff has been writing and reporting in Fort Worth for the past couple of decades and has created a weekly web series called Toast & Jam that can be seen on The Fort Worth Weekly website. Stubbs is out this week, but our buddy and Fort Worth Coolest Female 2018 Susie Ramone joins us in the studio as we frolic our way through the Best of 2019 issue. Be sure to pick your physical copy up at Weekly stands scattered all over Tarrant County.
We had an amazing guest lined up this week but at the last minute something came up. Which happens from time to time, so you’re stuck with us four yahoos. Yes, our good friends Susie Ramone and Matt Thomas came and hang out with us and we earned a lot of neet things. Like: Crystals and Sageing, putting stones in your vagina, watching vaping come to an end, the downfall of Best Buy, on-stage meltdowns, and the return of Punch In The Face Of The Week.
Show 333 – Ox Combine Enter the Temple
Sep 11, 2019
Ox Combine makes their first trip to the Temple of Eye this week to talk about their latest release New Demons. Matt and Dustin talk about their Korn practices in preparation for the Do For It Halloween shows. Football is back and apparently the Cowboys are going to the Super Bowl, and there was a list made of the 10 most amazing albums without a bad song on them. There is also the debut of a new bit, “Matt Answers Questions Posted on the Fort Worth Reddit” (patent pending).
It’s our monthly contractual agreed show where we keep the studio empty and take care of business at hand. We talk about the new Texas laws that have gone into effect and try to figure out what the hell can be done about the firearm loophole. We are constitutional lawyers, but we like to play them on podcasts. We also get snubbed (did we mention that we are the most award-winning podcast in North Texas? Hahaha) by Fort Worth Magazine but still break down the list of what keeps Fort Worth Funky, including our buddy Jeffery Lorde landing at number 13! Dave Chapelle is a hot topic, so is Tool. There is an on-air meeting, and some Star Wars talk.
There we were getting ready to do another show this week from the Temple with our guest, Fort Worth artist extraordinaire Jay Wilkinson, when the news came down that Tin Panther only had a couple of more days with us. We’ve been wanting to do a show from up there for quite a while, so we packed up the road gear and relocated this week’s show into the Tin Panther’s bowels. At midnight on Thursday, the Tin Panther will shut its doors for good, with the future in the air for Tyler and crew. We sit down with Jay and talk about his future and the upcoming fall gallery night, NYC, Haunted House Mafias, and what bars still have the best restrooms in Fort Worth. Our podcast buddy Susie hangs out for a bit, before being joined by the Tin Panther’s own Charlie. Nick and Belvedere from Duell stop by and hop on the mics, as well as Sheridan and LuLu to wrap things up. It was a fun evening with friends from all over, enjoying the Panther one last time! You have till Thursday at midnight to stop by, pay your respects, and soak up some alcohol!
Chris, Androo, and Dave from the psychedelic prog-rock outfit THEY visit the studio this week, and well like normal, it doesn’t take long for things to get out of hand. We really aren’t sure what to blame it on either, because there are a plethora of vises within arms reach. What we will say is that the album Unspeakable is a sonic masterpiece and one hell of a trip from front to back. It’s available on Spotify, BandCamp, and iTunes. Check it out.
This week it’s just the boys in the studio, talking all sorts of nonsense in what one might say “is the funniest show they have ever done.” After discussing the 25 year anniversary of Woodstock ’94, they discuss false accusations of racism with a local band and racist imagery. Next, they discuss Jeffery Epstein, Tool, the highest liquor sales in Tarrant county, take questions from the audience, and finally a story about a lion. This show is all over the place, so take your ADHD medicine and buckle up because “it’s a little bit funky and a whole lot of fun!”
Show 328 – Miranda Kennedy Enters The Temple
Aug 07, 2019
There are a few instances in the history of our show where we become totally enamored with a guest because you can instantly tell that they are a unique soul. This week Miranda Kennedy drove all the way down from the distant lands of Denton to hang out with us and it was an absolute pleasure. Miranda is a singer/songwriter that bounces around North Texas playing shows here and there, enjoying life and whatever gets thrown her way. After talking about the weekend and hobo life we div into Miranda’s life and she treats us with not one, not two, but five different songs in studio. She’s an amazing person, and it was a fun evening getting to know her!
This weeks episode just happens to fall on the exact date of our 6 year anniversary. So in keeping with tradition, we bring you a completely ridiculous episode with some of our good friends Jeff from the Funkytown Podcast, Marlin and Trashpockets from the Me-Thinks, and Matt from Robotuners Insignificant Podcast. It’s a completely off the rails episode that just turned out to be a good excuse to drink and eat cupcakes.
We have new T-Shirts available for purchase, you’ll have to email for now for more info.
Show 326 – Garage Barrage & The Secret Entrance To MASS
Jul 24, 2019
The title of this weeks episode reads like the title of a Hardy Boys novel, but it’s far from it. Ranger and Ian from the super mega-hit band Garage Barrage visit the Temple this week to talk about the completion of their new album, obtaining four Panthy’s, recording in a studio, and being heartthrobs on the cover of Tiger Beat and Seventeen. The new album ‘Garage Barrage’ is released everywhere on August 2nd and the release party is August 3rd at MASS with Phantomello, Mean Motor Scooter, and Brian Breckenridge. This Saturday, July 27th, is the Jerry Jonestown Massacre Presents Ivy Anderson’s Birthday Brought To You By Do For It Records at Main At Southside. Show starts at 8pm with Cruella, New Magnetic North, Redefine, and The Spectacle. It’s going to be one hell of a party! Come out early and stay late!
The winner of the Best Hip Hop Artist at the 2019 Fort Worth Weekly Music Awards and friend of the show Juma Spears stopped by this week to talk about alligators on meth, DMT, local hip hop, necking with a giraffe, and the controversial topic of women. We are just a few weeks out from Juma’s Japanese record is released and he hits the road in support of it, so we talk about everything he has planned.
July 27th is the Jerry Jonestown Massacre 6th anniversary party at Main At South Side in Fort Worth. It will be a night of music from Cruella, NEw MAgnetic North, The Spectacle, and Redefine as well as I guess a hungry hungry hippos tournament. Details can bee seen on Facebook Here.
Show 324 – The 2019 FW Weekly Music Awards Part 1
Jul 10, 2019
It’s that time of year again, and we are bringing it to you as best, or as sober as we can. The Fort Worth Weekly Music Awards are always a fantastic night celebrating the bands and their music in the 817 scene. Just like last year, we teamed up with the Funkytown Podcast crew to cover the entire event from beginning to end. We have the honor of kicking things off with Part 1 of the coverage that includes “Red Carpet” interviews and the first set of awards. After you listen to this episode hop on over to the Funkytown Podcast feed for Part 2!
Show 323 – Dagger Club Enter The Temple
Jul 03, 2019
Fresh off playing the final night of Curtain Club’s existence, Doug and Daniel swing by the studio to talk about Dagger Club, the legacy of the Curtain Club, and a reunion shows. In fact, if you ever wanted to hear Matt and Dustin get “schoolgirl giddy” unexpectedly during the show, then you’re going to enjoy the rumors that are talked about and the hopes of a MAJOR reunion. It’s a good conversation traveling through the intertwining of Dagger Club, South FM, Southern Train Gypsy, and Slow Roosevelt. Also, our buddy Zach Zanetich from the Funkytown Podcast stops by to do some Swap Shop/Tradio.
Show 322 – FW Weekly Music Awards Showcase Special Report
Jun 28, 2019
It’s that time of year! The time when local music Christmas descends upon Fort Worth and 40 bands perform at 8 different venues across the Southside. This year we dispatched a roving trove of reporters to bring you the inside scoop of Festival Day! Interviews and appearances by Juma Spears, Mandy Hand, Sean Russell, Ansley, Bruce Magnus, Tony Green, Johnny Trashpockets, Kasi Dane, The Funkytown Podcast, Bruce Magnus, The Royal Sons, Mean Motor Scooter, and more! It was another great year full of music that a little bit of weather couldn’t keep us from.
Special thanks to Matt Thomas, our brother in arms, and to Eric Griffey and his entire staff of minions at the Fort Worth Weekly for putting together a day we all look forward to every year!
The Awards Ceremony is July 7th at the Ridglea Theater, where $5 will get you entry to the show and a copy of this year’s compilation album of nominated artists. More info can be found here.
Show 321 – It’s Ladies Night
Jun 26, 2019
It’s a documented fact that every time Sheridan makes a visit to the Temple the show is ridiculously crazy and turns into some of the funniest shows we’ve ever done. Well, this week is no exception as she brings along Courtney and Lulu to push things into the red. It gets crazy 20 secs in and none of us let off the pedal until it’s over. Boundaries were pushed but, it was a wonderful evening with these ladies.
Show 320 – Abortion Junction What’s Your Function
Jun 20, 2019
The entire crew is back this week and it doesn’t take long for the show to go completely off the rails. Over the last two weeks one of us got loose, one of us got a tan, and the other cooked a lot of meat. There’s a lot of catching up, figuring things out, and rabbit chasing this week in true JJTM fashion.
Show 319 – Now That’s What I Call JJTM Music Vol 1
Jun 11, 2019
This week is a special episode of JJTM as we reach deep into our archives and pull out some of the music that has been sent to the show, recorded in the Temple, or just made up for the hell of it. It includes performances by the JJTM Lonely Hearts Band, Matt “Robotuner” Thomas, Jeffery Lord, I Happy Am, Becky from the Nedfiles, The Cut Throat Finches and a few others. Also in the mix are some of the silly old promos we recorded back when we first started the show. We are always thankful when you guys take the time to create songs and content for our silly little show. You all are amazing, thank you for all that you do!
I’m sorry. This weeks episode is full of vulgar language accompanied by radical thoughts and opinions, and for that, I am deeply sorry. See, just a few minutes before we went live tonight I found out that Trump has decided to ban all travel to Cuba, just a couple a days before we set sail. So I ask that you please forgive my anger this week as Matt and I try and trudge through the show, poking fun at local ministers instead. I’m gonna need some vodka. – Dustin
Show 317 – Hello, It’s Freaking Tony Green!!!
May 29, 2019
There are some guests that you don’t even have to introduce, and Tony Green is one of them. The larger then life Mayor of Magnolia has spent his time in Fort Worth making it a better place and helping to put it on the map culturally. He recently launched his variety talk show Hello, I’m Tony Green that can be found on YouTube and IG TV that is focusing on what’s happening in Fort Worth. It was a fun night having Tony in the Temple, talking about the show and discovering what makes him tick. We also talked a bit about Riffamania, Malls, and the Starlink. Jessi returned and brought a few gifts and surprises for the boys that are amazing. It was a party up in the Temple tonight!
This week our buddy and local comedian extraordinaire Brian Breckenridge swing by to talk about two big shows he has coming up. The first one is at The Stomping Ground this Saturday night and the second is at New Main Brewing on June 1st. Our other buddy Jason Cantrell also stopped by to chat about this weekends Carry The Load, a Memorial Day Tradition honoring fallen soldiers and their families. The 24+ hour march begins Sunday at 4pm at Reverchon Park in Dallas. So we talk comedy, Star Wars, GoT, and other important crap that you have to hear but I can’t remember right now.
