    The (in)courage Podcast

Welcome to the (in)courage podcast! We are all different ages, in different life stages, and we come from different cultures and churches, but our common thread is the hope of Jesus. Each weekday we meet you right where you are as one of our writers shares what’s going on in her everyday life and how God’s right in the middle of it all. We bring our joys and struggles equally so that you can feel less alone, and be empowered by the hope Jesus gives. We hope you’ll bring us along with you on your morning walks, driving to the grocery store, waiting in the preschool pickup line, alone in your kitchen, or as you wind down for the evening. Wherever you join us, you’re welcome here, and we’re honored to be a part of your day.

Read our daily posts at incourage.me, and find us everywhere on social @incourage.

The (in)courage podcast is brought to you by DaySpring. For over 50 years, DaySpring has created quality cards, books, and gifts that help you live your faith. Find out more at DaySpring.com.

The promise of hope is greater than the pain of my current circumstances. There is something I want more than a pain-free life. I want to arrive at the end of my story having become the woman God created me to be.

Kathi Lipp: God’s Comfort When Troubles Don’t Stop Aug 24, 2022
    Show notes

He calls Himself the God of all comfort and He proves that over and over again. So many of us, especially over the past three years, have been through surprisingly hard things. It doesn’t matter if other people are tougher than you. It doesn’t matter if your friend or your neighbor could handle circumstances better than you could.
We must stop trying to tough it out.
God has made it clear that in order to be there for others, we must allow God to comfort us.

Kaitlyn Bouchillon: Don't Forget to Remember Aug 23, 2022
    Show notes

Rest isn’t a sign that you’re weak. There will always be more to do, and certainly there are seasons in which we’re to run hard. But rest isn’t a sign that you’re weak; it’s trusting that the tending of your soul matters more than the completing of a task. Rest isn’t a sign that you’ve given up; rest is accepting the gift that has already been given.

Michelle Reyes: Why God Calls Our Troubles Light and Momentary Aug 22, 2022
    Show notes

Our lives are not meaningless, and God is still faithful. Everything in life is temporary, including our pain. God won’t always take away our pain, but He does promise to be our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1).

Bonus Episode: Voices of Lament, with Grace P. Cho Aug 20, 2022
    Show notes

Join Becky Keife for a conversation with Voices of Lament contributor Grace P. Cho!

Inspired by Psalm 37, Voices of Lament: Reflections on Brokenness and Hope in a World Longing for Justice is a powerful collection of reflections from Christian women of color on themes of injustice, heartache, and deep suffering. Their essays, prayers, poems, and liturgies lay bare the experiences of the oppressed even as they draw us into deeper intimacy with God and a fuller understanding of each other.

Grace P. Cho: In Lament, We Hope Aug 16, 2022

Without lament to give us breath again, we can drown in despair. Lamenting was our way of declaring, “We haven’t given up hope yet. This is how we hope. This is how we keep going. And we will keep going.”
