The purpose of this epic voyage is to raise awareness and resources for Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) treatment and rehabilitation. These two devastating conditions, sometimes causing the break-up of families and Veteran suicide, have risen to epidemic proportions since 9/11 and the War on Terror. Twenty two wonderful men and woman who have served their country faithfully are taking their lives each day. This is far above the National average, it is unacceptable, and it has to be stopped.

    Show notes

Seth Cole, I was in the military for 4.5 years before being medically retired in 2009 due to a mark19 grenade that detonated in my face. I was lucky enough to make it back alive, and even luckier to still have all my limbs. Before I joined the military I taught Karate to kids and adults, and since I have gotten out of the Army I haven't really done much until about a year ago when I joined a company called Advocare I would help vets to find different services in the VA that they are eligible for, but also wanted to be able to help them to find a job as well if I could. If someone is local, I have a few friends who own their own businesses and I try and hook the ones up who aren't wanting to be a part of AdvoCare Mark Ballas is a former Special Forces “Green Beret” and Army Ranger with over 20 years of combined operational and civilian teaching experience within the Special Operations community. With extensive applications in Counter-Terrorism, Unconventional Warfare and Foreign Internal Defense, Mark’s military operational assignments include the prestigious 7th Special Forces Group and the distinguished 75th Ranger Regiment. Mark’s most recent position was serving as an instructor at the US Army John F. Kennedy Special Warfare Training Center, Fort Bragg, North Carolina, teaching and mentoring aspiring Green Berets. Mark holds a B.A. in Business with a focus in Risk Management and is currently working on a second degree in Sports Marketing. Mark is well-versed in applying military special operations concepts to outdoor enthusiasts, avid athletes and corporate America. He creates a positive atmosphere that engages the participants in activities that promote health and fitness; building strength, confidence and self-esteem. Mark’s entrepreneurial spirit and experiences, endured throughout his Special Operations career, ultimately led to the development of the Green Beret Challenge.
