    The Home and Hearth Podcast

    The Home and Hearth podcast is the weekly show that is all about edifying, equipping, and encouraging women in their journey of Biblical womanhood. If there is an issue that pertains to a woman’s life, you will find it discussed here! We’ll be covering everything from topics pertaining to marriage, motherhood, homemaking, and the Christian walk, to issues of health and fitness, infertility, adoption, chronic illness, and current event issues in the church and culture. It is my prayer that you will find an episode here which speaks directly to what you are going through right at this very moment and that you will receive the encouragement you need for your daily life.

    Kat Armstrong has been emboldening women to be all-in for Jesus for twenty years as a speaker, Bible teacher, author, and podcast host. She is the author of No More Holding Back and The In-Between Place. As cofounder of The Polished Network, a nonprofit connecting and gathering working women to navigate career and explore faith, her mission is to create holy curiosity. Kat holds a master of christian education from Dallas Theological Seminary. She and her husband, Aaron, have been married for eighteen years, and live in Dallas, Texas, with their son, Caleb.     129: Men as Providers and Women Workers with Rebekah Hargraves (Solo Episode 14) Feb 10, 2021

    On today's solo podcast episode, I am taking to the show to talk all about the common idea that only men are created by God to be financial providers. We're going to allow Scripture to interpret Scripture as we do a survey of God's Word to discover God's true design for men and women and to see what He has to say about women working to provide for their families, as well as the call to manage our homes well.

    What I Chat about in Today's Episode:

    ~The difference between merely appreciating a God-given gift (such as our husbands providing financially for us) and making that gift into the very foundation for our understanding of the roles men and women are to take

    ~God's design for men and women at the very beginning and how both men and women are tasked with the responsibility to work

    ~Answering the most common objections to the idea that it is not only men who are called to provide - the first being that Titus 2:5 somehow says women cannot be providers but instead always remain at home, and the second being that 1 Timothy 5:8 says that only men are to provide
