Colin’s top takes of the week.
First, he’s joined by Jason Timpf, host of “Hoops Tonight”.
They start with the NBA Finals and debate whether Wemby’s thin frame has become a disadvantage when playing against the thicker, stronger Karl-Anthony Towns (3:30), why the expectations that Wemby be a finished product at 22 years old are unrealistic, and why Towns has grown and learned from past mistakes that cost his teams (7:30).
They also discuss the confluence of events that have to come together in order for a non-star driven team like the Knicks to win the NBA title (12:30). They highlight that the Knicks have a special locker room chemistry that has led them to play for one another and exceed expectations (18:30).
Then, Colin is joined by former NFL stars Leonard Fournette and Jarvis Landry, hosts of “4 and South” on the Volume.
They discuss Leonard’s experience of joining the Tom Brady led Tampa Bay Bucs and eventually winning a Super Bowl, and what happened during their bye week that fixed the offense (28:00). Jarvis looks back fondly on the Browns team he played on with Baker Mayfield that made the playoffs, and why Covid helped the team focus (33:00). They also discuss the perception that Colin didn’t like Baker Mayfield, and why Colin didn’t like Baker as a fit for the Browns (36:00).
