Rhaenys returns to tell everyone that King Viserys is dead, and the treacherous Greens are surely on their way. Rhaenyra goes into early labor with her sixth child, has a sweet crown placed upon her head, receives a pledge of support from Lord Corlys (back from the brink of death), and sends her two eldest sons out on dragonback to gain support from old allies. But Mad Daemon has schemes of his own, and he must depart on his own dangerous dragon quest. Yet all will not go as plan, as one would expect, where matters of the Iron Throne are concerned.
