Show notes

This week's interview is such an amazing one, Tanjareen is such an inspirational, hardworking, and hilarious person. Tanjareen and I talked about how she knew what she wanted to do at the age of 6 after playing a gingerbread man in a play. We, of course, talked working with JB Smoove and Larry David on Curb your Enthusiasm, Family Time on Bounce TV, Famous in Love, Zane’s the Jump off, the next sequel we are covering "I Got the Hookup 2", and so much more. I did sell Tanjareen a little short in that episode title, she's also a model, content creator, comedienne, her own agent, a boxer, and a host. She hosts "Tanjareen’s Top Talent" on Tuesdays at 3 PM PST and "Shoot Your Shott" which is a hilarious dating show Thursdays at 3pm PST. You are going to love Tanjareen and hearing about her journey.

Return to Sleepaway Camp Jul 02, 2020

Show notes

This we tackled a sequel that was 20 years in the making, ignoring the other two sequels that were made in the meantime, and that movie is Return to Sleepaway Camp. We had to bring in a Sleepaway Camp expert for his 3rd review with us, Chris Egan. Chris helps us understand that Return to Sleepaway Camp is pretty much the same film as the original. Of course, we talked about Alan's dirty shirt, the fact no one is fazed about being tied up, Jamies' new favorite one-liner "Your ass...stinks!, and so much more. This is a video review too that you can watch at sequelsonly.com/returntosleepawaycamp

Next movie we are discussing will be "I Got the Hookup 2" starring Master P and former guest "Tiny" Lister. But stay tuned for next week's interview where Doug chatted with actress and comedienne Tanjareen Thomas. They talked about how she started in Hollywood, how she was her own advocate(which is so inspiring), working on Curb Your Enthusiasm, starring in the sitcom "Family Time", her awesome youtube content, and lots more. She's a great follow on Instagram @officialtanjareen and twitter @tanjareen

Musician Jeffrey Bryan(Mega Hit Band Survivor) Jun 29, 2020

Show notes

This Bonus interview is so epic because I interviewed my first rock star, Jeffrey Bryan. Jeffrey grew up in LA and at a really young age, he was playing all the classic LA music venues. He talked about how he came to play the "Merv Griffin Show" at the age of 15, playing in different bands, composing music for tv/movies, and then joining the mega rock band "Survivor" (Eye of the Tiger, Moment of Truth, Burning Heart, and more) in 2017. Oh yeah and I failed to mention Jeffrey was an actor in the film "Karate Kid" and was on set for about 6 months, so he has some great behind the scenes stories about that experience. The wild thing is "Survivor" did the title track "Moment of Truth" for "Karate Kid" and Jeffrey is in the movie and music video! This is available as a video interview too at sequelsonly.com/jeffreybryan

This week's guest in Hollywood Make-up Artist Mike Marino. Mike is a tri-state area guy who was inspired at a young age from his fear of the movie "The Elephant Man" which led him to be fascinated by the make-up effects. We talked about how he got started practicing on a classmate in high school, how legendary makeup artist Dick Smith used to help him over the phone, working on Saturday Night Live, the biggest turning point in his career, doing Heidi Klum's epic Halloween costumes, plus we talked his upcoming films "The Batman" and "Coming 2 America". We covered a lot in an hour and he has worked on so many amazing projects, so we couldn't talk about it all, but I put his IMDb and website below.

Show notes

This week's sequel has us traveling to a dystopian future where a young Mel Gibson (Mad Max) will do just about anything for gasoline. This movie has an all-star cast with Mel Gibson and Vernon Wells. We, of course, talked about Jason Voorhees sorry I mean Lord Humongous, Feral Kid (What the hell was he), us both falling head over heels for Warrior Woman, how insane Vernon Wells is in this movie, and lots more. Mad Max 2 was our highest Rotten Tomatoes score yet at 93% This is also available to watch in video form (Doug has an epic costume of a Mad Max 2 character) here sequelsonly.com/madmax2 The next movie we are covering is "Return to Sleepaway Camp" (Available on Shudder) and we interviewed a SPECIAL EFFECTS MAKEUP LEGEND Mike Marino. Weekend At Bernie's 2 Jun 04, 2020

Show notes

So the last few movies had some pretty high body counts (Samurai Cop 2, Sudden Impact, and Death Wish 3), so it's only fitting our next sequel is one where a dead body is the star (cough Bernie Lomax cough). Weekend at Bernie's 2 has so much going on that we brought back Gina (Karate Kid Part III guest) to help us sort it all out. Of course, we talked voodoo, a few plot holes(maybe more), Larry's insanity, henchman turning into goats slowly, the Bernie dance, and so much more. We hope this tropical setting will help you escape a little. This is available on youtube as a video review here https://youtu.be/xIEJ0zVdfzw

Next week we have an amazing interview (in both audio and video) with actor and legendary villain Vernon Wells(Mad Max 2, Commando, Weird Science, and more) Vernon's career is so amazing and his story about how he got started is as well. Subscribe here sequelsonly.com/subscribe

Actress Troy Byer(Weekend at Bernie's 2) May 28, 2020

Show notes

This week's interview is such a special one for me, because "Weekend at Bernies 1 and 2" were ones I watched over and over as a kid and I was in LOVE with Troy Byer. I never realized the amazing things she did behind the camera like write "BAPS", write/direct "Love Don't Cost a Thing", and so much more. I short-changed her on the episode title because I didn't want it to be too long, but it could have said, "Troy Byer American psychologist, author, director, screenwriter, and actress". I loved chatting with Troy and I know you'll love her too. Write a review for our podcast!
