Gingerdead Man 3: Saturday Night Cleaver May 31, 2024

Show notes

This week we are talking about Gingerdead Man 3: Saturday Night Cleaver. This sequel introduced us to other homicidal baked goods. This one had us talking about the easiness of time travel, the lack of security in prison, the Roller Disco Championships, the odd people in history who are time-traveled to the end fight scene, and more. Gingerdead Man has some solid one-liners and we discussed him vs Jack Frost. Fun one to discuss.

The next sequel we are discussing is a sequel that might have the greatest sequel title ever with "House 2: The Second Story." For It, I chatted with Set Decorator Don Diers. Don's story of getting put into the Art Department all happened because he left out his drawing while working in the office on a movie, that movie was A Nightmare on Elm Street. We talked about what a Set Decorator does, his time at UCLA with the likes of Tim Robbins and former guest Lee Arenberg, working on Bio-Dome, The Muppets, and a ton more. Don mailed me a hat from Tenacious D's Pick of Destiny movie. Great guy and a great chat.

Scanners II: The New Order May 17, 2024

Show notes

"DON'T SCAN ME!" This week we are talking about a sequel that took 10 years to get made and was one of the weirdest sequels we will ever cover with Scanners II: The New Order. This sequel had epic SFX, but had such a confusing storyline and the rules for scanners weren't consistent. This one had us talking mannequins, mind fighting, a twist we wish was written into the script, and a ton more. Not a good movie, but it was a great to discuss.

Actor Russell Yuen (Thanksgiving/3 Body Problem) May 10, 2024

Show notes

The next sequel we will be discussing is "Scanners 2: The New Order". For it, I chatted with Actor Russell Yuen, who had a small part, but this is one of his earlier roles in his now almost 200-credit career (and counting). Russell talked about how a last-minute class addition, Drama, changed his life forever. Russell talked about the last of representation in acting, his big breaks, a story involving broken ribs and Gene Hackman, helping out young actors, Thanksgiving, and more. Russell's story about his 1st voice-over gig might be one of the best stories I've ever heard. Great chat

How High 2 May 04, 2024

Show notes

This week we are talking about a sequel we never heard of and it only came out 5 years ago with How High 2. This movie had us discussing how this movie could've been better, Furries, the odd weed clients, the bad guy giving up their master plan like always, and more. Not great, but we had a blast discussing it.

Watch the unedited review at sequelsonly.com/howhigh2

The next sequel up were discussing is a sequel we never knew existed, but glad that it does with Scanners II. The trailer gave me the vibes of a movie that should be fun, but we will see. For it, I chatted with actor Russell Yuen. Russell was destined to be a doctor, but when he needed a random class before university, acting was all they had and that changed his life forever. Lots of great stories about Gene Hackman, his first voice-over gig, and more. Lots of fun.
