This week I talk with my new friend Amanda Buenger. Amanda wears lots of hats - she is a wife and a mama, a child welfare lawyer running her own law firm and the director of an anti-trafficking ministry in Bryan/College Station called Unbound. In this episode, we talk a lot about surrender and what it looks like to hear from God. Amanda shares about what surrendering all has looked like in different seasons of her life. We also talk about the privilege we have as believers to carry the presence of God with us wherever we go, especially into dark and broken places. Erin also shares about what she is learning about the importance of rest and retreat and the idea of being unwilling to compromise when it comes to getting time away with the Lord. I share about how the Lord continues to teach me that this life is about making HIS name great and why that is good news. You even get to hear about my high school superlative, who I would be in my secular life (you know… the person you would have become if Jesus hadn't interested my life all those years ago), my current obsession with Wondery's Dr. Death and how I prepare for the new year- it's a trip! This week I talk with my new friend Mary Liz Eastland. Mary Liz is a wife, a momma to 4 little boys, a seminary student and she and her family live on and run a girl's summer camp. In this episode, she shares about making her faith her own at a young age and how receiving her great grandmother's Bible in middle school set her on a path to know and love the Word of God deeply. She also shares about how God has instilled in her an "even still" faith through the loss of one of her babies. Mary Liz's perspective on God and his goodness, even in the midst of suffering and grief, is beautiful and I'm so excited for you to hear her story!

She loves Jesus and is passionate about being faithful in the small things. This week, we chat about what her glory days have looked like in different seasons - including her time on Young Life staff, the power of good habits and why obedience in the small things matters in big ways.
