The Bible is the Standard Sep 04, 2023

Show notes

Gary responds to a video where a woman is raging against Christians and the Bible. She claims that she "doesn't care what a mythical god says in his mythical book." She appeals to the Constitution as giving her "rights," proving that she misunderstands both the Constitution and where rights and morality come from in the first place.

Don't Tread on Us Sep 01, 2023

Show notes

Gary discusses a recent dust-up at a school in Colorado regarding the Gadsden Flag. Administrators at the school told a student that he needed to remove a Gadsden patch from his backpack because it was a racist symbol. Gary sets the record straight. Note: Listen all the way to the end to hear an update from Gary about this controversy at the school.

MYTH: You Cannot Legislate Morality Aug 30, 2023

Show notes

You've heard it said over and over again that morality can't be legislated, but this is impossible. Every law is an imposition of someone's morality. In this encore episode from a couple of years back, Gary discusses this topic in much more depth, showing the impossibility of a "neutral" law system.

The Law Written on Our Hearts Aug 28, 2023

Show notes

Gary continues his response to an individual that claims Torah law no longer applies to Christians. Are we to believe that these moral standards disappeared with the coming of the New Covenant, and they no longer have any application to the nations? Paul talks about "the law being written on our hearts," and yet this law seems to be a lot like the law written on stone tablets.

Walking By the Spirit Aug 25, 2023

Show notes

Gary responds to an individual that claims Torah law no longer applies to Christians. Are we to believe that these moral standards disappeared with the coming of the New Covenant, and they no longer have any application to the nations? "Walking by the Spirit" (Gal. 5:16) necessitates walking by an objective standard.

The Social and Emotional Religion in the Classroom Aug 23, 2023

Show notes

Gary interviews Rhonda Thomas about the current trend in education: social and emotional learning. Children are being indoctrinated in the classroom, but you knew that already. However, it doesn't stop with the public schools; these educational policies are also entering and being taught in Christian schools, albeit with a Bible verse or two.

Ray Moore and Exodus Mandate Aug 21, 2023

Show notes

Gary interviews Ray Moore with Exodus Mandate about homeschooling, Christian schools, and a debate that Ray did over America's Christian history. Ray is a major proponent of getting Christians to leave public schools and his organization provides support and educational materials to aid in the transition once parents decide to educate at home or even start a Christian school in their area.

Stories Change Cultures Aug 18, 2023

Show notes

In this interview from a couple years back, Gary talks movies and television with Loor.TV screenwriter Jason Farley. As a former pastor, Jason recognizes the Bible as a story, and how its story should influence our own entertainment and storytelling. Culture is affected most deeply by its stories, and Christians too often tell weak stories in very poor ways with unrealistic characters. If Christianity is serious about changing the culture it must begin writing and telling better stories.

1976: The Turning Point (Part Two) Aug 16, 2023

Show notes

Dr. Gary North concludes his discussion of how the Scopes Trial and the ensuing political developments shaped the 20th century. Politics gets all the focus, but if every Christian began thinking and teaching how their worldview affects everything from car and home repair to art and music, as well as education (and politics), the battle would be won in short order. We must lose the "woe is me" mentality and develop a "why not me" mentality and strategy instead.

1976: The Turning Point (Part One) Aug 14, 2023

Show notes

Dr. Gary North continues his discussion of how the Scopes Trial and the ensuing political developments shaped the 20th century. Christians began to get politically involved late in the 1970s but didn't have a unique tactic to extend their game plan. A defensive plan is good in the beginning but an offensive strategy is necessary to sustain the momentum.
