Disparities in Economics and Abilities May 01, 2024

Show notes

Gary discusses the economic and the biological differences between men's and women's sports. People must (and do) ignore both the market and the obvious differences between men and women in order to bring in the equality and parity argument in sports. A short lesson in both economics and sports is Gary's response.

Putting Iran in Biblical Context Apr 29, 2024

Show notes

Now that the eclipse has come and gone, prophecy speculators have refocused their attention on the Middle East. Iran's attack on Israel got the typewriters of prophecy writers revved up, some comparing it to the Persian Empire. It is time to put all of this back into a proper biblical and ancient context.

Getting Healthy with Gary Apr 26, 2024

Show notes

In this episode, Gary discusses recent health issues, as well as giving a few hints and tips about getting and staying in shape. As we age, it is very important to keep active and fit, despite most activities for older people being mostly sedentary. A biblical worldview is not only for the mind; it should also affect how we live, exercise, and eat.

You, Your Doctor, and God Apr 24, 2024

Show notes

Gary discusses recent logic being dropped regarding abortion on the daytime TV show, The View, by resident theologian Whoppi Goldberg. She claims that the decision is personal and should be between the woman, her doctor, and God. While she is quite complimentary and approving of the 10 Commandments, she is less informed about what immediately follows in the very next chapter in the Bible.

Gumming Up the System Apr 22, 2024

Show notes

Gary discusses tactics of Christian resistance that can be learned from Saul Alinsky's Rules for Radicals. Scotland has recently made reporting "hate speech" easier and they are being inundated with cases. Author J. K. Rowling has even gotten involved. It all reminded Gary of an article written by Dr. Gary North years ago.

The Failure of Christian Socialism Apr 19, 2024

Show notes

The passing of Ronald Sider in 2022 presented an opportunity for Gary to tell the sad history of Christian socialism in America. Acts 4-5 is often appealed to as an example of this, but as Gary points out, it was 1) voluntary, and 2) tied to the coming destruction of Jerusalem. Christians must not be manipulated into unproductive mindsets by academic and economic guilt peddlers.

The Dividing Wall Has Been Broken Down Apr 17, 2024

Show notes

Gary responds to a recent article by Dr. Michael Brown on "replacement theology." Dr. Brown (and most evangelicals with him) are under the impression that God still has promises to fulfill to Israel. Despite the New Testament's clear teaching that far from "replacing" Israel, the New Covenant Church includes both Jews and Gentiles, or "one new man" as Paul says in Ephesians 2.

No Flesh Shall be Saved Apr 15, 2024

Show notes

Gary responds to a recent article that discusses Matthew 24:22. "Unless those days were shortened, no flesh would be saved; but for the elect's sake those days will be shortened." The article claims this is referring to all people on earth, but Gary points out the context and meaning that the verse is actually talking about. It's about the end of the age, not the end of the world.

How to Teach History (Part 2) Apr 12, 2024

Show notes

Gary continues his talk about teaching history and how to make it relevant and interesting. Too often, children (and adults) don't like history because of how it is taught as a series of unrelated facts and events. Movies can be a great way to engage with history and further the conversation and research.

How to Teach History (Part 1) Apr 10, 2024

Show notes

In a talk from a few years back, Gary discusses how to teach history so that it's relevant, memorable, and applicable. Too often history is taught as names and dates to be memorized with little to no connection to the present. History is the continuing record of man's response to God, and we must all learn and heed the lessons from the past.
