Show notes
On this weeks podcast we catch up, ketchup?, either way we catsup on all the Billings city council meetings. Three to be exact. Also we awkwardly enter the conversation on officer involved shootings in Billings. What can you do to become involved? How can you help? We think it starts with a heathy dose of education on the subject, Check the links below ↓
→Embedded is a podcast by Kelly McEvers that deals with current events but also does a five part series called “Police videos” that details police shootings caught on video. We highly recommend those.
→Amicus is a podcast by Dahlia Lithwick “A show about the law and the nine Supreme Court justices who interpret it for the rest of America.”
→1619 is a podcast that if you haven’t listened to, drop what you are doing and do it right now.
→Radiolab, this episode asks, What are the police for? The answer’s may surprise you.
→This American Life this episode in particular captures the frustration of the whole moment. (59:16→1:02:29 Kimberly Jones absolutely nails it.)
→Scene on Radio Listen to the whole catalog, seasons 1-4. Its not explicitly about policing in America, but they are necessary history lessons.
→Uncivil Tells the story of America. And again, I can’t recommend this one enough.
