Dricus Du Plessis proved once again why he's one of the toughest champions in the UFC, and Brendan Schaub believes the biggest takeaway isn't just the win over Kamaru Usman—it's how bright the future of the UFC really is.
On this episode of The Fighter and The Kid, Brendan Schaub and Bryan Callen break down DDP vs. Usman, discuss whether Usman still has another title run left at welterweight, and explain why the next generation of UFC talent has them more excited than ever. From Tommy McMillen's breakout performance to rising prospects making waves across multiple divisions, Schaub says the UFC's future is "so bright you need shades."
The conversation also dives into Sean Strickland vs. Khamzat Chimaev rumors, Jordan Burroughs' upcoming grappling match, Colby Covington's wrestling credentials, Islam Makhachev comparisons, and why people underestimate the gap between elite MMA wrestling and Olympic-level wrestling.
Outside the Octagon, Bryan and Brendan discuss life in Los Angeles, homelessness, California politics, crocodiles vs. alligators, the FIFA Club World Cup, cricket's surprising global popularity, street fight videos, Mighty Mouse effortlessly submitting KSI, and much more.
