A court can tell an agency it was wrong, getting employees the remedy they won can take much longer Aug 26, 2026
    Show notes

A court ruling has given new momentum to a long-running dispute over Secret Service overtime pay. The case began with questions about agency pay practices. Today, it raises a broader question: how federal employees actually obtain a remedy after an agency's actions have been found unlawful. Joining me with more on this case and its settlement is Nicholas Wieczorek of Clark Hill.

Air Force joins federal agencies planning to spend more than ever on construction and maintenance projects Aug 25, 2026
    Show notes

The Air Force is requesting what’s likely a record $10 billion facility construction budget for fiscal 2027, up from $3.9 billion in 2026. And when you add other construction projects like military family housing and facilities sustainment and restoration, the budget request skyrockets to almost $27 billion. All in all, federal agencies are planning to spend more money than ever on construction and maintenance projects in the coming years. Brig. Gen. Patrick Miller is the commander of the Air Force Civil Engineer Center. He talked about the facility investment plan with Federal News Network’s Jason Miller.

Defense agencies have spent years trying to speed up acquisition. SOCOM is targeting a different problem: many companies with promising technologies never enter the competition at all. A new initiative is designed to make it easier for firms with little government contracting experience to get in front of decision makers. Here to explain how SOF RACER works is Brian Miller, president of BMNT.
