The Everyday Sniper Episode 59 MHSA Class, Truing Target, Software

Just finished up teaching our Precision Rifle Basic Class for MHSA Training Group. Excellent weekend with all the students, learned a lot. We saw a lot of things I believe can be improved on. It's crazy how many things are just not consistent the way I would like.
The AA Targets Truing Target worked out very well. I like using this a lot and I am gonna add more of these to the range. You cannot understate how well these can work in class.
Thanks to Mike for being the A-Instructor this past weekend. He was on fire during the class. Tons of fun listening to him.

Please stop by MHSA Training Group, Sniper's Hide, and

The Everyday Sniper Episode 54 Tikka Tac A1, 100 Yard Zero

In this episode, we talk about the Tikka Tac A1 rifle in 260REM. I upgraded my Tikka to a Bartlein Left Hand Gain Twist Barrel in 260. I talk about the results, the process, etc.

That brings me to discussing our zeros. We should all be using a 100 yard zero unless our scopes has a reticle that requires a different zero. But we want to fine tune our zeros via the software using a True Range Zero. The Hornady video on YT explains this as well I have a Utility in ColdBore 1.0 that helps determine the distance.
From a True Range Zero we go into shaving errors, what can we control and how do we resolve these variables properly.

I appreciate everyone listening, sharing and subscribing to the Everyday Sniper Podcast

    Cheers,

The Everyday Sniper Episode 50 Scope Reticles, .22 Scale Factor Apr 26, 2018

The Everyday Sniper Episode 50 Scope Reticles, .22 Scale Factor

Frank here from Sniper's Hide in this episode we talk scope buying advice and what to look for in a reticle. Your decision should first be based on your budget, then look at the reticles. The reticle is your point of interaction with the scope, how well you understand and accept the reticle matters.
.22 Scale factor, because .22 competitions are getting big, we want to understand how to scale our .22 rifle to match our centerfire drop. So there are several methods for determining your scale factor.

I mention Ballistic Edge and FinnAccuracy for two examples. You can download the FinnAccuracy Excel Spreadsheet which I highly recommend.
Looking forward to my Vudoo Gun Works .22 to arrive in the next few days.
