Good works can’t save us; only Jesus can. In Goody Two-Shoes, Pastor Ed reminds us that spiritual maturity is not about perfection but about grace in action. We are called to restore the broken with gentleness, carry one another’s burdens, and sow righteousness without growing weary. The cross reminds us to stop boasting in what we do and start boasting in what Jesus has done—His grace covers and carries us every step of the way.

Free People: The Cross Is Greater Than The Curse Sep 21, 2025

Show notes

The cross is greater than the curse because Jesus already finished what religion could never do. Religion says, “Do more.” Jesus says, “It is done.” Legalism and human effort only leave us empty, but Christ has redeemed us, broken every curse, and set us free. By faith, we are welcomed as sons and daughters, clothed in Christ, and united as one family. This is not about rules; it is about relationship. The gospel reminds us today; what religion demands, Christ has already done.

Galatians 3:1–6

The cross didn’t just forgive our past; it defines our present. Paul confronts Peter’s compromise, showing how fear can lead to failure and hypocrisy. He clarifies that we are justified by faith in Christ, not by works, and that true faith both exposes and erases our sin. When we surrender to Jesus, our old life is crucified with Him, and the life we now live is fueled by faith in the One who loved us and gave Himself for us. The gospel isn’t behavior modification — it’s heart transformation.

Galatians 2:11–21

There is only one true gospel. Salvation comes by grace through Jesus Christ. Paul warns against turning to a different message, declaring that any other gospel is no gospel at all. As believers, we live for the approval of God, not people. The gospel never changes; you do.
