A journalist from Yemen just explained why Trump enables Saudi war crimes in his home country Oct 31, 2018
    Show notes

Scott interviews Yemeni TV news anchor Khatab al-Rawhani, who explained the ongoing war in his home country and how his personal acquaintance Jamal Kashoggi’s murder and coverup are tied to Donald Trump’s support for American involvement in that war. Al-Rawhani was forced into exile in America after his station was shelled by government military forces in 2011 and then a few years ago, all media outlets were shuttered. Now, both Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates are fighting a bloody war for control of Yemen with logistical support and arms sold to them from the United States, but Congress never declared war and the American people have been kept largely in the dark.

Cheri Jacobus just explained why Special Counsel Mueller is investigating her email hacking case Oct 23, 2018
    Show notes

Scott interviews former GOP staffer and pundit Cheri Jacobus. She rose from humble Midwestern roots to become a high ranking staffer on The Hill, but she’s an independent now after rebuffing the Trump campaign’s overtures early on. Their misogynistic response to her rejection and later, her honest comments about an illegal Trump PAC led to their continued escalation of dirty tricks until the FBI was called in, to investigate an email hack against her before the 2016 election.
This month, Special Counsel Mueller got called in. She explains why.

We just released a new report revealing Lindsey Graham’s Russia-linked donations Oct 03, 2018
    Show notes

Scott reveals the Democratic Coalition’s latest report (embedded below) about Sen. Lindsey Graham’s (R-SC) Russian-linked donors and his role in accepting illegal foreign campaign donations funneled into his senatorial campaigns by the CEO of a virology research company who is now serving more than seven years in federal prison for the scheme. Graham helped the CEO obtain $19.6 million in spending earmarks, but the company has since folded after wasting millions on lobbying expenses and a real estate deal instead of research. Script

Two new shocking sexual assault allegations against Kavanaugh should end his nomination Sep 24, 2018
    Show notes

Scott explains the pair of shocking new allegations against Judge Brett Kavanaugh. The New Yorker’s Ronan Farrow and Jane Mayer released a report revealing a sex assault in public by Kavanaugh at Yale, and new allegations from lawyer Michael Avenatti on behalf of one of his clients are even worse. This podcast also reveals that Senate Republicans knew about Ramirez’s new allegations last week when they put the screws to Judge Kavanaugh’s first accuser Dr. Blasey Ford in a desperate attempt to confirm him before the New Yorker’s reporting could be published.

J.D. Scholten is fighting to save Iowa’s farms from tariffs and their healthcare from the GOP Sep 19, 2018
    Show notes

Scott interviews J.D. Scholten, a first-time Democratic candidate for Congress in northwest Iowa’s 4th District which includes Sioux City, stretching from Interstate 35 to Interstate 29 in the farm belt, which includes his family farm. He is fighting to unseat long-time incumbent GOP legislator Steve King who’s best known outside the district for his white nationalist views. Tariffs are just taxes Republicans raised on middle-class Americans, and they are strangling the farmers in Scholten’s district, which he says is threatening to harm his state’s thriving agri-business sector for years if not for decades to follow, and he wants to join the House of Representatives to end the White House’s damaging trade war. Find out more on J.D. Scholten’s website.

National security expert says Trump just carried out one of Nixon’s impeachable offenses Sep 18, 2018
    Show notes

Grant Stern interviews national security lawyer Bradley P. Moss, whose Washington, D.C. practice includes representing news organizations seeking the release of federal public records, whistleblowers and navigating the government’s security clearance process. Moss says that Trump’s announcement yesterday of a very selective declassification of the DOJ, FBI investigatory records of the Russia probe directly echoes the kind of abuse of power drawn up against President Nixon for Watergate.

A pardon won’t let Manafort escape Mueller’s plea deal, says former federal prosecutor Sep 17, 2018
    Show notes

Scott interviews former federal prosecutor Renato Mariotti, who explained both that Mueller has means at his disposal to ensure Manafort’s testimony is “locked in” to be used against Trump even if he is pardoned and what will happen to the $46 million that Trump’s former campaign manager forfeited to the government if he’s later pardoned. Mariotti graduated from Yale Law School, then spent a nearly decade prosecuting crime families and white-collar criminals in Chicago at the Northern Illinois US Attorney’s office and is now a legal analyst for CNN We also discussed if and how Trump’s tweets could be used in a court of law and much more. You can follow Renato Mariotti here on Twitter and listen to his new weekly podcast On Topic with Renato Mariotti on iTunes.

This is what you need to do today to #PostponeTheVote on Kavanaugh Sep 17, 2018
    Show notes

Scott calls for direct action from The Resistance to oppose Judge Brett Kavanaugh’s nomination by targeting key GOP Senators for phone calls and sharing Tweets with the hashtag #PostponeTheVote. Read the letter from California professor Christine Blasey Ford laying out the sexual assault she suffered at the hands of Brett Kavanaugh when they were both students.

Paul Manafort just flipped. Trump and Putin must be furious. Sep 14, 2018
    Show notes

Scott explains the finer points of Paul Manafort’s plea agreement to flip on Trump and cooperate with Special Counsel Mueller, something which doesn’t surprise the Dworkin Report team since we started sounding the alarm about Russian influence before the votes were cast. Forget the White House’s denials, we already know that Paul Manafort’s illegal conduct reaches into Trump’s inner circle from emails released in his Virginia mortgage fraud trial that implicate Jared Kushner in a serious crime of office.

    Show notes

Scott Dworkin explains why he and the Democratic Coalition filed a criminal complaint to the US Department of Justice against Judge Brett Kavanaugh with the legal counsel of Massachusetts lawyer J. Whitfield Larrabee. Scott and Jon Cooper, who is the Chairman of the Democratic Coalition, both joined the complaint individually. A parallel judicial ethics complaint will be filed with the Clerk of the DC Circuit Court for Chief Judge Merrick Garland to review on Monday morning. Transcript
