Show notes
On today's show, Dane is joined by Kyle Theige to discuss the logistics of a Kevin Durant to the Wolves trade. Dane and Kyle start the episode by laying out the Wolves current financial situation -- highlighting the free agencies of Randle, Reid and Alexander-Walker, and discussing the market factors that may open a window for all three players to stay in Minnesota while staying under the second apron. After establishing that, Dane and Kyle get into what the logistics of a Kevin Durant trade would be in a world where they simply could not afford to retain their current free agents. Specific topics and timestamps below...
- A look at the Wolves cap sheet + Can they keep Randle, Reid and NAW while staying under the 2nd apron? (2:00)
- The logistics of an exact salary match in a hypothetical Kevin Durant trade (24:00)
- The idea of KAT's supermax contract becoming KD's expiring contract (46:00)
