The host Roz Chandler has been a cut flower farmer for nearly ten years and is passionate about helping others to have their own cutting patches. This podcast is for you if:-. You currently grow or want to grow cut flowers for pleasure or profit and be part of a growing community. Your host is passionate about reducing the number of cut flowers travelling many thousands of miles from across the globe and therefore helping to reduce the carbon footprint on our planet for our children and their children.     Green manures are fast-growing plants sown to cover bare soil. Often used in the cutting patch, their foliage smothers weeds and their roots prevent soil erosion. When dug into the ground while still green, they return valuable nutrients to the soil and improve soil structure.

    How many different uses do herbs have?

    Roz Chandler started her flower farming business ten years ago. This podcast is for you if you want to learn more about growing your own cut flowers.     Herbs generally refers to the leafy green or flowering parts of a plant (either fresh or dried), while spices are usually dried and produced from other parts of the plant, including seeds, bark, roots and fruits. They have a variety of uses including culinary, medicinal, and in some cases, spiritual. Roz explains why as a flower farmer she grows a large selection of them - mints, sage, borage, rosemary, and lemon balm. Easy to grow herbs add that something little extra to flower arrangements.
