26) The Death Defying Film Crew: Helicopter Crash into Kilauea Volcano Aug 08, 2021

This is the story of Chris Duddy, Michael Benson, and Craig Hosking. In 1996, the three men set out in a helicopter over the Kilauea Volcano in Hawaii to shoot some footage for the movie Sliver when the helicopter crashed, catapulting them into a very hot and dangerous situation in which they became trapped inside the volcanic vent.

24) Eric LeMarque: One Wrong Turn Under the Ski Boundary at Mammoth Left Eric in the Cold Jul 26, 2021

Eric LeMarque was a talented athlete, a former Olympic Hockey player who lost his direction and his drive after retiring from the sport during the 1999-2000 season, and put his energy and focus into snowboarding. Eric then went down a dark path, getting his kicks from smoking crystal meth. In 2004, when Eric was 34, he went with his friends to Mammoth Ski Resort in Eastern California in the Sierras. At the end of a great day of snowboarding, Eric made a decision that could be only considered one of the most pivotal moments in his life, he cut under a ski boundary line.

23) The Chilean Mining Accident: In 2010, 33 Unlucky Chilean Miners got Trapped when the San Jose Copper-Gold Mine Collapsed Jul 19, 2021

On Aug 5th 2010, miners were working hard at the San Jose Copper-Gold Mine in Chile, a mine that is located in the Atacama Desert, 45 km/28 miles North of the capitol Copiapo in Northern Chile. The mine, which was considered unsafe, collapsed, trapping 33 miners 700 m/2,300 feet underground and 3 miles from the mine's entrance via the length of the spiraling underground ramps. They were finally unearthed after a 69 day rescue mission.

22) Takeyasu Minamiura and the 1990 Great Epic of Trango Tower: Paraglide Gone Wrong Jul 11, 2021

Takeyasu was 33 in 1990 when he summited the sheer rock face of Trango Tower In Pakistan, also called the Nameless Tower. Instead of belaying down the tower like most climbers would, Takeyasu decided to paraglide without his gear, and what happened next was an unimaginable terror.

The Evans family dreamed of moving to Alaska, and were able to make this a reality when parents Donald and Rosemarie got a teaching jobs in a remote village in 2011. They were traveling from McGrath to Anvik with their family in a small plane when the weather changed, setting the stage for a crash landing.

Yossi Ghinsberg was just 21 when he set off to experience the Amazon in December of 1981. While traveling in Bolivia, a strange and enticing man touted stories of adventure and lore, and promised to take Ghinsberg to the heart of the jungle.
