Ep. 130 - The Massacre Jun 19, 2020

Show notes

Normally I release new episodes every Monday, but I'm releasing this special episode early in honor of Juneteenth. In this episode I discuss one of the ugliest racist incidents in American history, the Tulsa Race Massacre of 1921. It started with allegations of a black man assaulting a white woman. That led to an angry mob of white Tulsa residents burning the prosperous black neighborhood of Greenwood to the ground.

Ep. 126 - The Black Art Apr 27, 2020

Show notes

When photography was first invented back in the 19th century, it launched a number of people to find new ways to innovate and expand the craft. One photographer in particular who did something unique, was William Mumler. He was an amateur chemist, engraver and portrait photographer, who promised to give his customers something they couldn't get anywhere else--a photo of themselves with the ghost of a dead loved one.
