Also: comfort games, Smash attacks, saucy gaming consoles, leaving things to the last minute, plus plenty more besides.

We’re back with our first (proper) show of 2022!
This week we’re making our 2022 predictions! But not before hearing our 2021 predictions from a year ago, with interesting results.
Also; Sony believes in generations so much that they’re bringing back the PS4 (kinda), Take-Two spends all its Christmas money on Zynga, Mario Kart 9 is in active development (chinny reckon), E3’s 2022 physical show has been cancelled, and so much more.

It’s time for the TCGS Game of the Year Draft 2021.
So who chooses what? Does someone grab someone else’s game? Will Sean nominate five games no one’s heard of? And will anything ever rival Farley’s 2018 “strategic” pick of Detroit: Become Human? Let’s find out.
But before that, we discuss last week’s The Game Awards, including the awards, trailers, and news.
Last week also saw the release of Halo Infinite, so there’s a big ol’ discussion about the Master Chief, including what we think of the open world, the missions, and the story; all spoiler-free.
And because it’s our final regular episode of the year before next week’s GOTY show, we answer your feedback, questions, and more.
Games discussed: Halo Infinite, It Takes Two, Backbone, After the Fall, Metroid Dread, Rocket League Sideswipe, The Matrix Awakens: An Unreal Engine 5 Experience.
