Christmas is a reminder that the mission of the Spirit of God is to make sure we don’t miss Jesus.
For Christ to be Before All Things in my life:
- I know that the purpose of my life is to point to Jesus (John 1:31)
- He must increase I must decrease (John 3:30)
- At the end of my life I would know HE is my treasure (Hebrews 11:35)
Mary is a picture of what happens when the Spirit of God moves in you: faith, surrender, and worship.
1. Faith is trusting that “nothing is impossible for God.”
2. Surrender says “behold, I am a servant of the Lord.”
3. Worship is our response to God. “My Soul magnifies the Lord, and my spirit rejoices in God my Savior.”
Pride is spiritual cancer: it eats up every possibility of love and contentment. Jesus is the cure, He is truly our only hope.
An idol demands sacrifice.
- When MONEY is your idol it will SACRIFICE your relationship with God, people, and peace.
- When JESUS is Before ALL things in our lives, HE made the sacrifice and we receive a relationship with God, His people, and PEACE.
