Shortly before His crucifixion, Jesus told His disciples that the magnificent temple in Jerusalem—the central place of worship for the Jews—would be destroyed. Shocked, the disciples asked Jesus, “Tell us, when will these things happen, and what will be the sign of Your coming, and of the end of the age” (Matthew 24:3-4)?

The disciples back then were asking some of the same questions that believers are asking today. Jesus went into a full discourse about the end times, providing some of the most detailed prophecy in all of Scripture. While He didn’t specify the day of His return, He did say what to watch for:

“See to it that no one misleads you. For many will come in My name, saying, ‘I am the Christ,’ and will mislead many…For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom, and in various places there will be famines and earthquakes…Then they will deliver you to tribulation, and will kill you, and you will be hated by all nations because of My name…This gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all the nations, and then the end will come…For this reason you also must be ready; for the Son of Man is coming at an hour when you do not think He will.” Matthew 24 excerpts

How the Age-Old Scheme of Lie, Silence, and Control Dominates Our Age Apr 23, 2022

Take any of the headline events of our day—Covid-19, accusations of systemic racism, the January 6, 2021 Capitol breach, and the homosexual/transgender movement—and you will see a recurring pattern.

Disinformation (i.e. lies) is propagated by those with power and influence. Those who dare speak the dissenting truth are silenced. And those with power and influence gain more of both.

This is an age-old scheme. Consider what took place after the resurrection of Jesus Christ. Matthew writes in his gospel, “when they [religious rulers] had assembled with the elders and consulted together, they gave a large sum of money to the soldiers, and said, ‘You are to say, “His disciples came by night and stole Him away while we were asleep”’” (Matthew 28:12-13).

Now who would believe such an obviously specious claim? Well, it turns out lots of people. Which is the most tragic part—souls are led away from the truth, not just on issues of our day, but on belief in the One and only Savior, Jesus Christ.

Deconstruction. It’s a current term for the age-old affliction the Bible calls apostasy—departing from professed orthodoxy to heterodoxy, often in the form of theological liberalism or atheism.

The US Senate has voted to confirm Ketanji Brown Jackson to the U.S. Supreme Court, despite the fact that she refused to define what a woman is, “doesn’t hold a position on whether individuals possess natural rights”, and consistently sentenced those convicted of child pornography to less-then-recommended prison terms.

Disney, the iconic corporation that operates theme parks and produces popular films, openly declares its intent to promote and affirm homosexuality and transgenderism toward young children.

These current news events are extremely troubling indicators that our country has been “given over” to a “depraved mind” (Romans 1:28), one that is in open rebellion against God and His Word.

Robert Knight, columnist for The Washington Times, joins us to discuss the evil intent behind Disney’s grooming of children and what Christians should think and do in response.

Pastor in Ukraine War Zone Gives First-Hand Perspective Apr 02, 2022

It’s been over a month and Ukraine continues to fight back against the military invasion by Vladimir Putin’s Russian forces. The human toll is high—thousands of people have been killed (on both sides), with homes and other non-military buildings destroyed. Cities like Mariupol have been decimated by Russian military bombardment, causing millions of refugees.

Meanwhile, the debate rages in Europe and America about what to do. Is more intervention called for—beyond supplying arms and technological support to the Ukrainians—such as enforcing a no-fly zone over the country (which means direct combat with Russian forces)? Or just stay out of it, reasoning that the U.S. has little strategic interest in Ukraine?

Even in an age of countless information sources, it’s difficult to know why Putin invaded Ukraine and what is taking place. That is why we are looking forward to talking with an American pastor who has ministered in Ukraine for 30 years and has chosen to stay with his congregation in the capital city of Kyiv, in the midst of war.

U.S. Senate hearings began this week to interview President Biden’s nominee, Ketanji Brown Jackson, to the U.S. Supreme Court.

Because the Supreme Court is a lifetime appointment and because the court decides on the most critical, future-defining cases for the nation (like abortion and “same-sex marriage”), Senate confirmation hearings can get nasty as the opposition party digs into every detail of the nominee’s judicial and personal life.

During this week’s hearings, a clear indicator of how far morally our leaders have fallen was evidenced by the response to a question by Senator Marsha Blackburn, “Can you provide a definition of the word ‘woman’.” To which Ketanji Brown Jackson replied, “I can’t…I’m not a biologist.”

As the Covid-19 virus spread across the world, governing authorities mandated shutdowns on businesses, schools, and churches. We were promised that it would be just “two weeks to stop the spread” or “a month to flatten the curve.”

Well, two weeks turned into 24 months of shutdowns, mask mandates, gathering and movement restrictions, and “get-vaccinated-or-else”. And while the virus has retreated for now, just wait for the next variant to arrive and the vise will be tightened again.

One perspective became abundantly clear during the mandated lockdowns—the government views in-person church gathering as “non-essential”. Meanwhile, liquor stores and big box stores like Wal-Mart were allowed to stay open as “essential”. The duplicity and ineffectiveness of the measures was obvious to any discerning observer.

In the midst of all this, a large church with a well-known pastor in Los Angeles (Grace Community Church, John MacArthur) and a small church with a little-known pastor in Edmonton (GraceLife Church, James Coates) came to the same conclusion: they “must obey God rather than men” and reopen their churches in obedience to what Scripture declares, particularly in Hebrews 10:

“Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful; and let us consider how to stimulate one another to love and good deeds, not forsaking our own assembling together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another; and all the more as you see the day drawing near” (Hebrews 10:23-25).

Both churches (and some others) opened in defiance of government edicts. National media covered the story, certain Christians sniped how these churches were “not loving their neighbor” or were “disobedient to Romans 13”. The government levied threats and fines, even arresting and jailing Pastor Coates for 35 days.

The dust has settled for now, but perhaps the most important result has been the church having to arrive at a deeper understanding of its duty to God vs. government.

Persecution, imprisonment, and murder of Christians is nothing new. The gospels recount the crucifixion of Christ and the book of Acts chronicles the threats, beatings, jailings, and stonings of first century Christians.

Today is no different for believers in Communist China or North Korea, where Christians defy government edicts and gather secretly. In some Islamic countries, Christians are jailed and martyred for refusing to keep silent about the gospel.

In countries like the United States, Britain, Canada, Australia and New Zealand that were founded on Christian values with guaranteed individual liberties, the state has generally allowed citizens to pursue their faith.

That changed about a decade ago when the homosexual movement began prosecuting Christians for refusing to participate in“same-sex” so-called weddings. It was a shock when Christians lost their baking or photography business or were fined for following their biblical beliefs.

But the God-haters wouldn’t stop there. With Covid came a new opportunity to silence and persecute Christians, as government-mandated restrictions and closures of churches in the name of “community health and safety”.

Most pastors and churches “compiled”, but some, like GraceLife Church in Edmonton, Alberta where James Coates pastors, understood the Biblical command for churches to “not forsake our own assembling together” (Hebrews 10:25).

Alberta’s governing authorities couldn’t allow GraceLife to defy their order and so Pastor James was arrested and imprisoned. For what? For continuing to gather as a church in obedience to God’s Word.

Pastor James Coates joins us on The Christian Worldview to explain what happened and to exhort Christians to obey God when government tries to usurp the authority that God gave to the church.

Apparently Russian president Vladimir Putin didn’t get the memo about the “New World Order” where mankind lives in “peace and security”. Instead, as the world watched in disbelief, Putin ordered a massive military assault against Ukraine, a large sovereign nation in eastern Europe bordering Russia.

The invasion started slowly but has increased in ferocity, causing widespread death and destruction. The United States and European countries have expressed outrage at Putin and are sending armaments to Ukraine, who is outgunned and outmanned but led by a charismatic president named Volodymyr Zelensky who is inspiring his people to fight back.

So why has Putin invaded Ukraine? What should western nations do in response? What are the ramifications of a major war on the European continent?

Soeren Kern, a Christian geopolitical analyst with the Gatestone Institute, joins us from Europe to answer these questions and more, including how the prophecy in Ezekiel 38-39 applies to Russia, the “army from the north”.

You’ve probably heard of Dr. Francis Collins. Until recently, he was the long-time leader of the National Institutes of Health (NIH), a government agency which, along with the Centers of Disease Control (CDC), leads our nation’s response to Covid, including mandates with regard to vaccines, masks, shutdowns, and social separation.

Collins is venerated as the “head of the human genome project”. He also claims to be an Evangelical Christian. He wrote a book titled “The Language of God” and is the founder of BioLogos, an organization which heretically attempts to merge God and evolution.

Recently, Daily Wire reporter Megan Basham dug deeper on Francis Collins, bringing to light several ungodly policies he has directed and supported over the years and questioning why the biggest names in Evangelicalism such as Ed Stetzer, Rick Warren, NT Wright, Tim Keller, Russell Moore, Christianity Today, and The Gospel Coalition all invited Collins on their platforms to persuade Christians to toe the government line on Covid.
