DeChambeau Drama Jul 17, 2026

Show notes

He might not lead The Open Championship at halfway but all the headlines at Birkdale are being made by Bryson DeChambeau, who finished his second round in second place but was then handed a two-shot penalty for improving his lie on the 5th hole. Andrew and Eddie discuss it all while Iain digs around for further news then joins the chat. Quite apart from all that, it was a day of extraordinary golf with 62s being handed in by leader Lucas Herbert and American Sam Burns. Even bigger names are not too far away with Scheffler, Cam Young and Tommy Fleetwood, but the question remains: Will Bryson play? And will Donald Trump put in a call to have it overturned?

WEDNESDAY AT BIRKDALE Jul 15, 2026

Show notes

It's Open Championship Eve and Andrew and Iain are separated by a few feet in the media centre, while Eddie is a couple of hundred miles away, but the three gather to have a final look ahead to this year's Open Championship. They discuss the course and the contenders while hearing from Scottie, Rory, Tommy and Justiny. Most importantly, they each pick their horse to lift the Claret Jug. If a horse could do that with its hooves.

The Greatest Week in Golf Jul 13, 2026

Show notes

It's only in publishing this episode that we have noticed this is episode 200 of TCF. It is a) remarkable that it has lasted this long and b) it seems appropriate that this milestone marks the start of Open Championship week. Iain is at Birkdale with Andrew about to arrive and Eddie is in between trips to the local farm shop, so all of them gather to reflect on the Scottish Open, the Evian Championship and even the Isco - God bless it - before turning their attention to The Open itself. Plenty more to come this week...

No Sir, I Can't Bogey. Jun 29, 2026

Show notes

An early Monday recording with Wimbledon duties for Andrew and Iain, while Eddie is still in the north of Italy, reflecting on an impressive effort in Turin where his 11th place contained a bogey-free run of 56 holes. There is discussion of the Travelers Championship - at the time of recording still to be settled between Scottie Scheffler and Viktor Hovland (spoiler alert: Hovland wins), a first-time winner of a major at the Women's PGA Championship and uninformed debate about what kind of dog Rory McIlroy would be.

Wyndham Win Winds Em Up Jun 22, 2026

Show notes

It's our big US Open debrief where Andrew, Iain and Eddie pick over the bones of events at Shinnecock Hills, admiring the play of Wyndham Clark while not in any way admiring the supporters. Is this a problem according to geography or something more widespread?

There's also discussion of a near miss for Lottie Woad on the LPGA Tour as we head into major number 3 in the women's game, Iain asks if former professionals should be allowed to return to the amateur game's biggest tournaments and Eddie is preparing for his return to the tour in Italy.

US Open Week Jun 15, 2026

Show notes

It’s US Open week and Andrew, Eddie and Iain convene to preview the third men’s major of the season. Andrew is missing because of the knock-on effects of Denis Shapovalov being unable to win in straight sets at Queens.

There’s a review of the Canadian Open and the Curtis Cup, while Iain tells us (thankfully not) all about his match against Andrew and Eddie reveals just how much he has been practising in the past week. The answer may not entirely surprise you.

Water Ski Jumping Over Greg Norman Jun 08, 2026

Show notes

The young, fresh and not at all over the hill trio have plenty to get their teeth into this week - Charley Hull goes close in a major once again, but Nelly Korda makes it number four in her collection. Eddie reflects on a tough four days in the Netherlands and an event which leaves all three extolling the virtues of a cut in golf. JT Poston turns his form around to win the Memorial, Andy Murray suffers golfing heartache and Eddie finally decides that he might not rate AI as a swing coach.
