    Show notes

Thanks for taking in this introductory episode of the China History Podcast. The show was launched back in the early days of podcasting in June 2010.

In late 2026 I began reordering a lot of shows around the back catalog as well as re-recording many shows. The first thing you're going to hear will be the first six episodes of a 23-part series that looks at the history of imperial China from the mythical times of Pangu to the fall of the Qing in 1912 and the last Emperor Puyi. If you'd like to hear the rest of this series, feel free to scroll all the way to the newest shows where you will find Part 7 and all subsequent shows in this series.

Feel free to jump around from topic to topic that interests you. There's no need to listen to the shows in order, though I welcome you to do so. There's over 300 hours' worth of Chinese history for you to enjoy. Feel free to reach out to me anytime at laszlo@teacup.media.

I also welcome you to check out my other show called The Chinese Sayings Podcast, which features the stories and history behind many Chinese chengyu 成语 Chinese sayings.

If you'd like to support my work and my ongoing efforts, please consider supporting me with a subscription to my Patreon or CHP Premium channels. Thanks so much.
