    Maggie Steber has worked in 64 countries focusing on humanitarian, cultural, and social stories. Her honors include the Leica Medal of Excellence, World Press Photo Foundation, the Overseas Press Club, Pictures of the Year, the Medal of Honor for Distinguished Service to Journalism from the University of Missouri, the Alicia Patterson and Ernst Haas Grants, and a Knight Foundation grant for the New American Newspaper project. For over three decades, Steber has worked in Haiti. Aperture published her monograph, DANCING ON FIRE. In 2013 Steber was named as one of eleven Women of Vision by National Geographic Magazine, publishing a book and touring an exhibition in five American cities. Steber has served as a Newsweek Magazine contract photographer and as the Asst. Managing Editor of Photography and Features at The Miami Herald, overseeing staff projects that won the paper a Pulitzer and two finalist recognition. Her work is included in the Library of Congress, The Richter Library and in private collections. She has exhibited internationally. Clients include National Geographic Magazine, The New York Times Magazine, Smithsonian Magazine, AARP, The Guardian, and Geo Magazine among others. Steber teaches workshops internationally including at the World Press Joop Swart Master Classes, the International Center for Photography, Foundry Workshops and and the Obscura Photo Festival.     Stacey Tyrell was born and raised in Toronto, ON, Canada. She attended OCAD University where she majored in Photography. Her work predominantly deals with themes of identity, race and heritage as it pertains to post-colonial societies and the Caribbean Diaspora. Her work has appeared in such shows as Flash Forward 2012 at the Magenta Foundation, Position As Desired: Contemporary African Canadian Photography at the Royal Ontario Museum and the Canadian Museum for Immigration at Pier 21, MLK50 at the Places des Arts, PQ and Photography NOW 2009 at the Center for Photography at Woodstock, NY. Her images are part of Heritage Canada and the Montreal Arts Interculturels Collections permanent collections and have appeared in such publications as European Photography, Marie Claire South Africa, Pictures From Paradise: A survey of Contemporary Caribbean Photographers, Canadian Art Magazine, ARC Magazine, Prefix Photo and Applied Arts Magazine. She has also participated on various panels including the Canada Council for the Arts Next Generation Sounding 2013. She currently is based in Brooklyn, NY, USA.     Danny Clinch loves music. He listens to it, plays it, photographs it, and films it. Through this passion, Danny has established himself as one of the premier photographers across the entire music scene. He has shot and filmed a wide range of artists, from Johnny Cash to Tupac Shakur, from Bjork to Bruce Springsteen. His work has appeared on hundreds of album covers and in publications like Vanity Fair, Spin, Rolling Stone, GQ, Esquire, and more. Clinch has presented his work in numerous galleries and published three books: Discovery Inn, When the Iron Bird Flies, and Still Moving. As a director, Clinch has received three Grammy Award nominations. He has also directed music videos for artists like Willie Nelson, Tom Waits, Pearl Jam, Foo Fighters and Dave Mathews, among others. Danny plays harmonica in the Tangiers Blues Band and will occasionally put down his harp in the middle of the set, pick up his Leica, and began photographing his band members. During times like these, Danny Clinch is a very happy man.     TCF Ep. 330 - Levon Biss Jul 11, 2016

    Levon Biss was born in 1975 and grew up in South London. He trained initially to be an illustrator and it was not until his late teens that he picked up a camera, combining photography with his love of sports. Much of Levon's work concentrates on shooting dynamic action portraits that show the beauty of the human form in movement. His keen understanding of the mind-set and extraordinary talents of athletes at their peak gives Levon an easy affinity with his subjects and this very much underpins the technical success of his images. His more recent work in a personal project called Microsculpture in which he captures incredibly detailed photographs of insects. Levon has also been drawn to cover the culture surrounding sport and the fan's perspective. His project 'One Love' is a brilliant exploration of the global love and passion for football, it took him to 26 countries, produced a best selling book, and an exhibition viewed by 1.2 million people worldwide. Alongside his sports work, Levon has fulfilled many portrait and lifestyle commissions that showcase his great creativity and flexibility as a photographer, these include advertising shoots for O2, Deutsche Post, Mastercard and Sky and editorial work for the Observer, GQ and New York Times.     Estevan Oriol is an internationally celebrated professional photographer, director and urban lifestyle entrepreneur. Beginning his career as a hip-hop club bouncer turned tour manager for popular Los Angeles-based rap groups Cypress Hill and House of Pain, Estevan's passion for photography developed while traveling the world. With an influential nudge and old camera from his father, renowned photographer Eriberto Oriol, Estevan began documenting life on the road and established a name for himself amid the emerging hip-hop scene. Nearly 20 years later, Oriol's extensive portfolio juxtaposes the glamorous and gritty planes of LA culture, featuring portraits of famous athletes, artists, celebrities and musicians as well as Latino, urban, gang, and tattoo counterculture lifestyles. He has photographed Al Pacino, Robert Dinero, Dennis Hopper, Marissa Miller, Kim Kardashian, Kanye West, Snoop Dogg, Floyd Mayweather, and Lance Armstrong amongst others. He has also produced shoots for internationally-acclaimed photographers such as Ellen von Unwerth for Sang Bleu and Luca Babini for GQ Italy. In addition to shooting campaigns for companies including Cadillac, Nike and Rockford Fosgate and directing new media projects for My Cadillac Stories, MetroPCS, MTV and Apple, Estevan has designed album covers and/or directed music videos for artists including Eminem, Cypress Hill, Blink 182, Snoop Dogg and Xzibit. His work has been showcased in select galleries and institutions—such as Smithsonian Center for Latino Initiatives, Mesa Contemporary Art Center, Petersen Automotive Museum, and The Museum of Contemporary Art, Los Angeles' Art in the Streets exhibit—concluding with a best-selling book of his work: LA Woman, capturing the dangerous and alluring beauty of women shot in his uniquely provocative and raw style.     Over the course of his 40-year career, photographer Art Wolfe has worked on every continent and in hundreds of locations. Wolfe's photographs are recognized throughout the world for their mastery of color, composition and perspective. Wolfe's photographic mission is multi-faceted: art, wildlife advocacy, education, and journalism inform his work. Wolfe is the host of the award-winning television series Art Wolfe's Travels to the Edge, an intimate and upbeat series that offers insights on nature, culture, and the realm of digital photography. It now airs worldwide. Wolfe has released over eighty books, including Earth Is My Witness, The Art of the Photograph, Vanishing Act, Human Canvas, and The Living Wild. His photos have appeared in magazines worldwide, including National Geographic, Smithsonian, Stern, GEO, and Terre Sauvage. Education is a major component of Wolfe's work, whether it is about the environment or about photography. He leads photographic tours and gives seminars worldwide. Along with his numerous book and television awards, Wolfe is the proud recipient of the Nature's Best Photographer of the Year Award, the North American Nature Photography Association's Lifetime Achievement Award and the Photographic Society of America's Progress Medal. He is an Honorary Fellow of the Royal Photographic Society, a Fellow of the International League of Conservation Photographers Wolfe maintains his gallery, stock agency, and production company in Seattle, Washington.     Kathy Shorr is a freelance photographer based in New York. Her work has been exhibited widely at such galleries as Howard Greenberg Gallery, NY, and Sariedo Gallery, NY. Her series, "Limousine," was included in the prestigious Visa Pour L'Image, International Photo-Journaliosm Festival, in Perpignan, France. Her work has been published in Popular Photography, Newsweek, French Photo, Camera Austria, Photo Review, On Seeing, New York Observer, and The Village Voice. As a freelance educational consultant, Ms. Shorr works with diverse groups of all ages in helping to learn how to express themselves through the lens and screen arts. Here project SHOT explores the long-term impact of people who have survived gun violence.
