On March 22, 1992, Sydney Nova Scotia was expecting it’s worst snowstorm of the year. With over 30 centimeters expected to fall Doug Dupe encouraged his wife Marie to not take any chances by going in to work. With it being her first back shift at the convenience store where she had only recently been hired, she decided to brave the elements.
The shift, and the night, would be her last.
In this episode of Nighttime, I’m joined by my good friend and band mate Aaron Corbett for a discussion surrounding the Big Ben’s Murder.

20 year old Amber Tuccaro, was last seen alive on August 18,2010. She had left her infant son in the care of her friend and planned to hitchhike into the nearby city of Edmonton for the night.
The only clue in Amber’s disappearance is the recording of a telephone call she received while riding in a vehicle with an unknown male just moments after she was last seen. In the chilling recording, Amber seems to slowly realize the man is not taking her towards Edmonton but instead onto a series dirt roads… just like the ones her remains would be found on two years later.

Our story centers around two Canadians who met on the front lines of the race war militant white supremacists hope to start.
On one side, we have a journalist with the Winnipeg Free press named Ryan Thorpe and on the other side, we have Patrik Mathews, a Manitoban who moonlights as a recruiter for a secretive neo-nazi hate group.
I say “moonlit” as when not conspiring to overthrow the government and create a white ethnostate, He was known as Master Corporal Patrick Mathews… a combat engineer in the Canadian Military.
At least, he was before Ryan Thorpe's investigative journalism outed him.
Buckle up for this one.
In this episode of Nighttime we are joined by Ryan Thorpe, the Winnipeg based journalist who infiltrated a paramilitary white supremacy group known as the Base.
Our story is the exposure and the downfall of Master Corporal Patrik Mathews

For over 50 years a revolving door of civilian and government investigators have attempted to provide an explanation for the Falcon Lake UFO Incident, yet it remains an enigma.
What is known is that in 1967, just months prior to the other famous Canadian UFO event in Shag Harbour, a man stumbled out of the woods in rural Manitoba disoriented, vomiting, and badly burned.
This wasn't a bonfire gone wrong or anything to do with alcohol however.
The story this man told, and maintained until his death in 1999, was that he encountered a UFO, and got injured in the process.
In this episode of Nighttime, Canadian UFO researcher Chris Rutkowksi shares details of the Falcon Lake event and in doing so explains why this event has remained such a major part of Canada's UFO story.

For me, it all started on an average day in November. I woke up, poured a coffee, and swiped open my phone to see what was what in the world.
Instead of finding local news and pictures of social media influencer’s breakfast, I was face to face with an agitated mob that seemed to have my email and social media accounts surrounded. Fortunately, it wasn't a lynch mob. In place of torches and pitchforks they all just had their phones out showing me a viral video taken on October 3rd by a hunter out looking for partridge with his wife and grandchild in rural Ontario. The video itself isn't much to look at, it’s little more than a still image of a treeline.
It's the sound of the video that makes this special.
The hunter, 39 year old Gino Meekis, started filming after being started by a howl unlike any he had never heard before.
After sharing the video to Youtube people took notice.
Just like Gino, No one could agree on what animal was heard in the video. But, there was one group on the fringes of the discussion who did recognize this almost human howl and they confident they knew what it was.
They thought it was Bigfoot and they considered Gino's video proof that there ARE Sasquatch in Northwestern Ontario.
In this episode of Nighttime our topic is both Gino's video and the question it raises “Was it a sasquatch in NorthWestern Ontario?”

26 year old Loretta Saunders – a proud Inuk woman – was in Halifax completing her university thesis on the topic of Canada’s missing and murdered Indigenous women and girls.
After leaving her home to collect overdue rent from the tenants of an apartment she had been renting, Loretta became the victim of a senseless and brutal series of events that added her name to the very list of missing and murdered indigenous that she had hoped her work would reduce.
In part one of a two part collaboration with Canadian True Crime, Kristi Lee provides a telling of the crime and it’s far reaching impact.
In Part 2, the story will be expanded upon via an in depth conversation between Jordan of Nighttime and the person who vows to carry on Loretta’s advocacy work… her sister Delilah Saunders.
