Stay ConnectedThe Canadian Gothic uncovers Canada’s most mysterious, unusual, and fascinating stories.
The show dives deep into true crime, unsolved disappearances, paranormal encounters, and bizarre events using a blend of meticulous research, archival audio, interviews, and firsthand accounts.
Each episode, whether a standalone mystery or part of an ongoing series, offers a richly woven narrative that brings Canada’s most enigmatic cases to life.
On a snowy night in March of 2011, 20-year-old Luke Joly-Durocher was visiting a friend in North Bay, Ontario for the weekend.
After an evening of music, laughter, and drinks Luke and three friends went to a downtown bar, but the night took an unexpected turn. The bouncer didn't let Luke in, thinking he'd had too much to drink. With his friends inside the club, and Luke alone with the night the mysteries begin and despite 12 years passing, the most important question remains: Where is Luke?
In this episode, Madelayne Kline and I discuss the disappearance of Luke Joly-Durocher

Residents in an upscale Ancaster, Ontario neighbourhood often wondered about the one homeowner that seemed to stand out. He didn’t look much older than 19, didn’t seem to work, yet had a near million dollar house and a collection of exotic cars.
In 2017 a joint RCMP / FBI operation on the home's front porch led to the arrest of 22-year-old Karim Baratov, and provided answers to many of the neighborhood's questions about him and his wealth.
MJ Banias and Jordan will explore this story together by seeking the firsthand account directly from the source.
Karim Baratov, now older, wiser, and no longer an American prison inmate will join the show to recount the fascinating sotry of how a Kazakhstani immigrant in Canada achieved great wealth as one of Canada’s most notorious computer hackers, only to experience a dramatic and public downfall.

A life that begins in small town Nova Scotia will end up pointlessly and horrifically snuffed out in the early morning hours, near a remote lake in Saskatchewan.
Prescription drugs, Methamphetamine, alcohol, animal abuse, betrayal, and unimaginable violence all play a role in this story.
In this episode, Madelayne Kline and I do our best to understand the Murder of Logan Ring.

In a past episode we met UNICOLE, an influential online spiritual teacher and self proclaimed cult leader, who leads a group called UNICULT.
As you can probably imagine much has happened in UNICOLE's life since we last spoke.
In this episode we again meet UNICOLE to discuss their successful search for a UNIMATE and the trouble with UNIACRES.
Who’d have expected a small town in USA to not welcome an online cult with open arms!?!?

2006, Near Regina Beach, Saskatchewan
On the third night of a three day long graduation party, a group of people unconnected to the event crashed the party. At some point after their arrival tensions flared between members of the groups.
What started off as a verbal altercation in a dimly lit field has evolved into one of Regina's most often discussed unsolved murders.
Despite there being nearly 200 in attendance, and 17 years of finger pointing, investigators have yet been able to prove who killed 19 year old Misha Pavelick.
In this episode I’m joined by Madelayne Kline to discuss the murder of Misha Pavelick.

Kristin MacDonald is a Vancouver based teaching assistant that found herself in the center of controversy. Actually, it's not necessarily Kristin that created the big stir....all the fuss surrounds her alter ego. At night, she becomes Ava James, a barely dressed, large breasted, blonde bombshell who shows almost all of it off on her OnlyFans account.
The problem is the school board she works for is most certainly NOT hot for teacher.
In this episode we meet Kristin Macdonald/Ava James to discuss the “lose your onlyfans or lose your job” situation.
