In this episode, Bryant delivers a quick message on the importance of taking occasional breaks. We live in a time where busyness is worn like a badge of honor. Especially if you're an ambitious person, it almost feels off-brand to slow your pace. But that hustle, that grind, can actually be detrimental to our health if we don't pause every once in a while. Through pausing, we're able to rest and regroup. We're able to practice gratitude for how far we've come. There's no shame in taking a break, guys! Listen to hear more of Bryant's thoughts!

    Show notes

After over 20 years in the entertainment industry, starring in films alongside Angelina Jolie, and starting his own acting conservatory, Fabiano Altamura made a discovery: who you are is not what you do. Achievements are worth pursuing, but at the end of the day, they don't increase or decrease our value as people. This lesson, as well as many others, are brought up in today's interview. If you're an aspiring actor or an aspiring ANYTHING, you're gonna want to hear what Fabiano has to say!

    Business Failures in 2020 Jan 06, 2021
    Show notes

To kick off 2021, Bryant sits down to reflect on multiple business mishaps from last year. You don't grow a small business venture into a multi-million dollar company without running into a few obstacles! But with all kinds of failure, they don't have to make you feel shame or fearful it will happen again. They're our best teachers. If you have your own entrepreneurial ambitions, or maybe you have artistic ones, if you have any sort of idea you're afraid to take a risk on, this episode is right up your alley!

How To Navigate Failure on the Journey to Physical Health (Interview w/ Rafael Lamarche) Dec 01, 2020
    Show notes

As entrepreneurs, artists, and overall go-getters, it’s easy to get caught up in chasing achievement. The only content we’re interested in is the stuff we think will get us ahead --life hacks and “secrets to success.” It can be hard to see the utility in a message about self-love. But in this episode of the Fail Journal, Bryant and longtime friend Rafael Lamarche, reflect on their respective roads to achievement and why learning to love themselves was as crucial as any lesson learned along the way. Rafael speaks from the heart about his journey out of being overweight and having low self-worth to losing over 100 pounds and actually loving the person in the mirror instead of just patting himself on the back on the occasion that he did something right. You might not be reaching your fullest potential at this point in your life, but that doesn’t mean you aren’t worthy of love. After listening to this episode, you might even realize that being hard on yourself is what's holding you back!

Keys for Developing a Powerful Mindset Nov 24, 2020
    Show notes

Originally aired on Justin and Abi Stumvoll’s podcast “The Connected Life,” this episode features the Stumvolls interviewing Bryant on everything from running after outlandish goals to the danger of prematurely giving up. If you’re ready to break free from what’s holding you back, you’ll get a lot from this episode!

Is It Failure To Break The Rules? (A Conversation w/ Ben Day) Nov 10, 2020
    Show notes

Rules are important. Life would be chaotic and unmanageable without them. But rules can also be inhibiting. They can program you into a boring and unimaginative life. In this episode of the Fail Journal, Bryant recruits his business partner Ben Day to discuss their thoughts on the subject of rule-breaking and thinking outside of accepted conventions. Coloring outside the lines isn't always constructive, but it can--when done the right way-- be the very ingredient needed for creativity and entrepreneurship.

How To Thrive While Being Misunderstood Nov 03, 2020
    Show notes

At some point, you'll be misunderstood. It happens to everyone. As opposed to frantically maintaining a perfect public image, Bryant talks in this episode about the courage to live authentically in spite of what others think-- and the humility to course-correct if your choices do in fact need to change!
