Wolf Brigade and The Sect - Challenging the Orthodoxy Nov 27, 2018
    Show notes

Strength & Conditioning "Truth and Consequences". A new guest each month, interviewed by Greg Walsh of Wolf Brigade. Mind over matter; Critical-thinking and accountability; Unconventional origins and philosophies; We will speak with and strive to reach those that embody each and all. Progressive, desirable demographics- by nature and nurture- often do not have three hours to listen to someone else's story when they are neck-deep in constructing their own. Our transmissions will be clear, brief, and honest; Concepts often left for dead in this modern age that will benefit from any breath of life they can get. This week Greg talks with Paul Roberts and CJ Mansfield of The Sect in Utah.

Building a Healthy Body, and Active Mind, and Strong Relationships Nov 27, 2018
    Show notes

Dr. Wendy Walsh is a human behaviors expert. She teaches Health Psychology at California State University Channel Islands and speaks often about pro-aging (mental and physical wellness,) gender dynamics and relationship science. She is an award-winning television journalist, radio host, an influencer and brand ambassador. Time Magazine named her one of the Persons of the Year in 2017 for her work in helping to pave the way for the #MeToo and #TimesUp movements.

In this latest edition of the Outliers podcast for Breaking Muscle, I am talking to Dr. Walsh primarily about the mental aspects of health answering the question of what does an actual healthy person look like in totality.

Although some people may appear healthy from the outside, in their physical appearance, Dr. Walsh talks about all the components of a healthy life. Healthy people treat their body a little bit like a temple as far as diet, exercise, sleep, but then psychologically they have good stress coping habits. They are able to do some mindfulness and find ways to be able to calm themselves so that stress and cortisol levels don't get the best of them. In addition, healthy people tend to have secure healthy relationships, both social relationships within the community and interpersonal one-on-one relationships.

There's a lot of great ideas and concepts to dig into here, dealing with isolation, infantile urges in our adult attachments, and general behaviors that sabotage our wellbeing. So, it's not just enough to be physically healthy, you need to be healthy in your mindfulness, and healthy in your relationships, whatever they may be.

Focus to Slay Your Goals with David Essel Jun 05, 2018
    Show notes

Celebrated author, counselor and motivational speaker, David Essel, talks about his life and his latest book, Focus.

David wants you not just to read his book but to do the work because he believes what we get out of life is what we focus our thoughts on, and just as importantly, what we focus our actions on, on a daily basis. In David's belief, what separates this book from other products on personal growth and motivation, is that he doesn't just look at what the mind is doing but the actions that we take, and their results, on a daily basis.

For 25 years David has used a variety of healing methods to help people release limiting beliefs regarding money, their bodies, love, addictions, a lack of self identity and more including cognitive behavioral therapy, emotional desensitization, amino acid therapy, Emotional Freedom Technique/Tapping, as well as the common practices of journal release, nutritional therapy, meditation, financial freedom methodology, and more.
