Scientists have discovered a new part of the female anatomy and they have no idea what it even does. So that's just great. A disabled woman was paid her full salary, but told not to come to work, and she sued for being excluded from working (WHILE STILL GETTING PAID), and Susie has never been more furious. We don't know how we feel about Taylor Swift's Madison Square Garden wedding, and now the Swifties are going to come after Susie. And Sarah explains the importance of silliness.

    1050: Ultramarathons, Siren, & the Wheel of Well-being Oct 12, 2026
    Show notes

Sarah just started a therapy business, but she thinks she missed her calling as a redecorator for therapy offices. Someone who could use Sarah's therapy skills is the guy Susie saw at Oktoberfest who had a full-on 15-minute slur-filled rant, and the sheriff had to cart him away. Susie watched a documentary about ultramarathoners, and describes the teams of people who support these extreme athletes, why she thinks the women are different from the men, and why it's similar to drug addiction. Sarah describes the "wheel of well-being" that can help people find balance in their lives. Susie talks about the American Gladiator, Siren, who was hearing-impaired, and her difference caused a lot of pain throughout her life. We find out who is having the most hot and heavy boom-boom, and the answer shocked us. Plus, Susie is raging about a bar that closed down in Boston because they were dummies.

1049: Halloween Ideas, Fart Spray, & Last Meals Oct 08, 2026
    Show notes

We're brainstorming Halloween costume ideas because, once again, we will be enjoying Spooky Season together. We've got so many good options. We discuss problems at a big festival causing people to evacuate, and we are starting to think there are too many festivals, and they're getting crazy with litter, consumerism, crowd control, etc... One thing is certain, pyrotechnics are almost always a mistake. And Sarah wants to ban fireworks (don't tell Adam Butler). We find out about a student who brought fart spray (whatever that is???) to school as a prank, but it ended up being so toxic that several kids had to go to the hospital. Susie hates pranks even more now. We discuss a man who claimed he unearthed the world's oldest amphitheater, but suspicions were raised when people noticed that the venue was made entirely of modern materials. We discuss the "last meal" that death row inmates get, and share what we would choose if we were them.

1048: Beach Brawl, Dumb Phones, & Longevity Fail Oct 05, 2026
    Show notes

Sarah has a new enemy, and its electronic behemoth, Best Buy. Apparently they want to charge you to recycle your goods, and she ain't having it. Susie's having better luck with her appliances, and shares a hack for getting a free toaster (or something?). We hear about a brawl that broke out over a beach chair that left a man dead. Susie explains why Pittsburghers encourage "saving" your parking spot, but Sarah's not so sure she likes this idea. We learn about tech-bro-turned-longevity-bro, Bryan Johnson's surprising new diagnosis that might undermine his life's mission to live forever. Susie's cats have tapeworms. She is none-too-pleased. And a woman was given permission to keep a pet alligator, and we have to admit, it's adorable even though it's super weird and probably bad for the reptile.

Sarah passed her therapy licensing test, and now she feels like a new woman. We discuss what personal life information influencers "owe" their followers, why some people believe the influencers lose their privacy in exchange for online success, and how the two of us navigate our personal lives in the public eye. We hear which achievements in science won Ig Nobel Prizes this year. We talk about a second grade teacher who got sick of her students passing gas in class, so she came up with a strange "solution." Hear our thoughts. Sarah explains what she will do in order to avoid using Port-a-potties, and the insane way one man fell in one. Susie talks about the Wheel of Fortune announcer who was fired after someone allegedly saw him in a predator chatroom on a flight. We find out why some people are claiming meditation can actually be harmful and cause terrible side effects in certain people.

    1043: Thongs, Bananas, & Longevity Sep 14, 2026
    Show notes

We're not blowing our whistles anymore, but if we were we would do it about thong underwear. Susie used to swear up and down that they were her preferred cut, but now she says that wasn't true. And she has a way to find out whether you think they're the most comfortable underwear as well. We discuss the problem with American bananas, and why a monocrop could lead to losing them altogether. Susie explains why produce can't compete with junk food. Sarah describes a study where people have to name the things they would give up to live ten years longer, and why Susie would be happy to give up any of them.

    1042: Pastor's Wife, Baby Jessica, & Lindsay Clancy Sep 10, 2026
    Show notes

Today we're talking about the Death of a Pastor's Wife documentary, which, with it's religion, cyberstalking, and marital control themes, got us going down a dark path. We hear about the scammer, Daejon Love, who convinced 26 women he was the star player for the 49ers, and got them to give him $1.3M. We learn about "Baby Jessica's" recent run-in with the law, and while we don't condone her actions, we can see how someone could resent having their identity hinge on being infamous from their toddler years. We discuss a man who hiked Mt. Fuji with his 7yo, and after the boy started whining, he left him there with only a snack as he continued his hike for hours. We talk about the Lindsay Clancy trial, the conspiracy theories, and why her case is about the need for postpartum care, good therapy, and good doctors. We debate a recent conversation we had about how long one should keep their undies. And we find out what a 3,000 year old mummy smells like, and what scholars are doing to keep the smell alive.
