Metal Gear Rising Revengeance Nov 15, 2024

Metal Gear Rising is a 2013 slash-em-up with a pretty cool feature in "blade mode". Blade mode allows enemies and objects in the world to be carved in real time, and the tech is still impressive today, 11 years on. I guess you could say it was... cutting edge. It's a very "Bonus Points" thing to have one of the biggest franchises in gaming (Metal Gear Solid) represented on the list by its spin-off, but thats how we be.

Armed with a camera (and anything else you can get your hands on) players must survive 72 hours against the zombie horde and even worse… other survivors. This game is an absolute BANGER and somewhat forgotten by Nintendo themselves. The first game where Mario is truly 'acrobatic', it twists after the 4th (and normally final) stage of the game to reveal a whopping 97 more stages to complete. Made for a fun episode, it's always an easy going one when the game is good!
