Show notes
This week on The Upload, host Brooke Taylor sits down with country artist Dylan Marlowe for a raw and thoughtful conversation about faith, calling, and learning how to keep God at the center in an industry that constantly pulls the spotlight toward self. Dylan opens up about when faith became personal for him — not inherited, but chosen — and shares the unforgettable story of how a friend’s mom quite literally pulled him back into church to say yes to Jesus. He reflects on the people who modeled Christ for him growing up, including his grandfather, and how those early examples continue to shape the man, husband, and soon-to-be father he’s becoming.
The conversation dives deep into navigating success without losing your soul. Dylan shares the tension of being a public figure, the temptation to chase viral moments, and the conviction he’s felt to walk away from controversy — even when it could bring more followers. He introduces a powerful concept he calls the “glory tank,” explaining why time with the Lord has to come before applause, affirmation, or the stage. Dylan also speaks honestly about life on the road, spiritual discipline in dark environments, and why leading worship for a handful of people has sometimes been more fulfilling than sold-out shows. As he and his wife Nat prepare to welcome twins after a season of infertility,
Dylan reflects on prayer, patience, and trusting God’s timing — even when the waiting feels heavy. This episode is for anyone wrestling with purpose, pressure, and the desire to live differently — choosing faithfulness over fame and obedience over approval.
🎧 Listen in for a powerful reminder that when your glory tank is full of God, everything else finds its proper place.
