    Bebe Buell Jun 15, 2023
    Show notes

What can you say about Bebe? She first came to notice as the girlfriend of Todd Rundgren. She had a daughter, Liv, with Steven Tyler. Listen and you'll hear stories about not only those two, but Ric Ocasek, Elvis Costello, Mick Jagger, Albert Grossman, Bob Dylan, Jack Nicholson... Bebe is anything but arm candy. She is vocal and full of life and the boys loved, and still love, to hang with her. And she's still making music as an artist herself! It's been quite a life, and this is her story.

    David Bromberg Jun 08, 2023
    Show notes

Legendary guitarist David Bromberg is performing his last concert at the Beacon on June 10th. Bromberg speaks slowly, but has a dry sense of humor underpinning his words, as well as a distinct honesty. If you hang in there, the podcast will pay dividends, you'll hear how David played on four albums with Bob Dylan and on Jerry Jeff Walker's original "Mr. Bojangles," made records for Columbia and Fantasy and then gave it all up to go to violin making school and open a violin shop in Wilmington, Delaware, taking a twenty two year sabbatical before returning to the stage. Bromberg is a musician, don't confuse him with the self-promoting entrepreneurs of today. He's different, he's an artist, he succeeded on his playing, not hype. This is his story.

    Larkin Poe Apr 20, 2023
    Show notes

Sisters Rebecca and Megan Lovell front Larkin Poe, a blues-based rock band that will knock your socks off. This is their story from home-schooling in Georgia to touring with their sister Jessica in the acoustic act the Lovell Sisters, to ultimately forging a new sound and backing Elvis Costello, Bright Eyes and more as they slowly gained traction on their own. My favorite part of the conversation is when the Lovell Sisters break up and Rebecca and Megan are struggling. Struggle is the essence of making it.
