The Bite Goes On – Sonoma Farm Trails Apr 19, 2019
    Show notes

EP24: Sonoma Farm Trails was created over 40 years ago as a way to connect the farmers to the public and a chance to learn more about their local food. Four decades later, the mission has remained the same, but they have more members than ever. Folks coming to Sonoma County should come in hand with a downloadable Farm Trail Map that will show them the way to family farms, the best produce, flowers and a real look at the Sonoma County food landscape.

Samantha Harman from Sonoma Farm Trails (a non-profit) and friend Tyffani Sedgwick joined us in Santa Rosa to record this episode. We discussed the history of the organization (including reviewing some of the earliest maps), the famous Gravenstein Apple Fair, Farm Trail events and more.

Visit the website at www.farmtrails.org to find the map, event calendar or to even volunteer.

Years later, Deirdre continues her worldly adventures, loving Italy, Myanmar, Thailand, Sardinia, Tokyo and more. Excited to see her first one, that will contain links to where to find ingredients, assistance in technique, playlists and a travel journal. In the meantime she has shared wome of her favorite companies and links for food-related adventures around Europe and Asia.
