Spineless Democrats Might Cave on SCOTUS. PLUS, Bill is Back! Jul 02, 2018
    Show notes

Bill is back from a week off and has lots to say about Trump's upcoming SCOTUS pick. Democrats are ALREADY caving on the issue. Shame on them. Sen. Susan Collins says she can't support a Justice that would overturn Roe vs Wade, but can you believe her?

We talk to Mike Lux, author of the book "How to Democrat in the Age of Trump" about how Dems can hold the line. Our buddy Chris Lu talks about the wild week we had in politics and HuffPost's Travis Waldron gets us up to speed on World Cup and Lebron James!

SCOTUS in Limbo: Why Our Future is More Conservative than Ever Jun 28, 2018
    Show notes

Justice Anthony Kennedy announced his impending retirement from the Supreme Court of the United States. His departure all but secures a hyper-conservative court subject to the GOP and Trump's wishes for the next 30+ years. Peter Ogburn fills in for Bill Press and is joined by guests Kaili Joy Gray (ShareBlue), Kevin Robillard (HuffPost), and Zoe Tillman (Buzzfeed News).

Democrats Are Running to the Left.... And Winning! Jun 27, 2018
    Show notes

A huge win for progressive Democrats last night. Joe Crowley, establishment Democrat, lost to a former Bernie staffer, Alexandria Ocasio Cortez. She's 28 years old, she's called for the abolishment of ICE and wants Medicare for All. Does the Democratic Party get the message?

Plus, Trump's travel ban is upheld by the Supreme Court. Shameful.

Guest host Alexi McCammond from Axios hosts today's show and welcomes Senior Organizing Director of Generation Progress from Center for American Progress, Anisha Singh, Carolyn Fiddler from DailyKos and Jessica Schulberg from HuffPost.

Political Civility Might Be Dead Jun 26, 2018
    Show notes

After Sarah Huckabee Sanders was asked to leave a restaurant, Trump Republicans are asking for civility. It's pretty remarkable to hear the least civil humans call for civility.

Guest host Jason Dick talks about the news of the day and the current state of politics! He's joined by Brandon Wetherbee, Editor of Brightest Young Things, Gideon Berger from the National League of Cities and Bridget Bowman from Roll Call!

Sarah Huckabee Sanders Faces Real Life Consequences for Enabling Donald Trump Jun 25, 2018
    Show notes

There are lots of important news stories to cover today. Between the child separation story and the tariffs and the general chaos of our country, it's hard to shift gears to talk about a slight inconvenience for Sarah Huckabee Sanders. But this weekend, a private business owner asked Sarah Huckabee Sanders to leave her restaurant. Guest host Peter Ogburn discusses why this is news that ACTUALLY matters.

Dara Lind from Vox has all the details on the latest train wreck on immigration. Hunter Walker from Yahoo News sits in for the entire second hour and Vann Newkirk II from The Atlantic tells us about the "Death of Civil Rights."

There is a new documentary about Mr Rogers. Producer Peter Ogburn is skeptical that anyone could actually be THAT pure and good, but Maura Judkis from the Washington Post tells the real story! She knew Mr Rogers when she was a kid and says he's as nice as his TV persona. We talk about his legacy and whether or not he could be relevant today.

Regardless of What Melania's Jacket Says, We DO Care.... But Does She? Jun 22, 2018
    Show notes

Melania Trump took a trip to the border to visit some of the detention camps that we are putting migrant children into. She looked completely foolish, not only on her lack of knowledge on the issue, but also in her choice of attire. Take a listen to hear what she wore and why it matters.

Fox News continues to act as the propaganda arm of the Trump administration. Cristina Lopez from Media Matters joins us to discuss.

Alan Pyke from ThinkProgress joins us for the entire second hour to talk World Cup and Jen Bendery from HuffPost joins to talk about Jeff Sessions and the crisis at the border.

Trump's Executive Order Doesn't Fix the Problem Jun 21, 2018
    Show notes

Donald Trump signed an executive order to keep families together at the border. Don't be fooled! It does NOT address the thousands of children that have already been separated from their parents. The only thing this does is keep families detained as a unit rather than separating them. Not to mention... They've been lying to us for over a week. They told us that they could NOT issue an executive order, which was an obvious lie.

We also talk to Steve Cotton, General Secretary of the International Transport Workers Federation (ITF). He talks about the state of unions!

Plus, we talk to Tom Jawetz, VP of Immigration Policy at the Center for American Progress. He gives us the lowdown on what immigration laws SHOULD look like and how the Trump administration is bunging them.

Plus, we go behind the scenes on the fight for immigration reform with Lorraine Woellert from Politico!
