From Zero to Ultra - Jeff Browning, Making It AfterShokz Podcast Series by BibRave Episode 4 Nov 20, 2019
    Show notes

We’re bringing you the fourth episode in a series of special edition podcasts we’ve created with our friends at AfterShokz - the unrivaled maker of bone conduction headphones. The series is called Making It and explores the pathways, trials, and tribulations of a variety of athletes as they try to “make it” at the highest levels of their sport.

In episode 4, we present From Zero to Ultra - Jeff Browning, Making It AfterShokz Podcast Series by BibRave. In this episode, we take you through the incredible ultra-journey that is Jeff Browning’s running and racing career. You’ll learn how “seeking adventure” was just the start of a lifelong passion that was always burning inside Browning. His determination and commitment to the sport of ultrarunning helped him make it in this difficult-to-crack sport.

Browning quite literally fell into the ultrarunning scene while trail running with a friend. Today, Browning has 28 ultramarathon wins and 19 hundred-mile wins on his running resume. Through his meticulous attention to detail, he’s mastered the training, diet, and recovery that propelled him to the top of ultramarathon podiums around the world.

Browning wanted to help others succeed the way he has, so he started a coaching company, and is now a highly sought ultra coach. In a sport with very few opportunities to make a career flourish, Browning was able to turn his passion into a profession.

We hope you enjoy this exciting conversation with Jeff Browning as much as we did! Be sure to share your thoughts with us on Facebook, Instagram, or Twitter.

First, the trio chat about everything FALL - changing temps, waning daylight, and some important reminders for safety out there on the roads and trails. This convo connects to the perfect Marathon conditions everyone saw in Chicago for our newest women’s world record - go Brigid Kosgei!

Then, they explore some new marketing and brand innovations by profiling several companies that are working to diversify how they are showing up to consumers. In many cases, businesses are tapping into the new “experience market,” and are taking their traditional product-based brands into new engaging directions (everyone from Lululemon to Crate and Barrel). Could You Handle the Escape from Alcatraz Triathlon? The Peek: A Behind-the-Scenes Podcast by AfterShokz Episode 2 Oct 16, 2019
    Show notes

If you’re a part of the triathlon community, chances are you’ve heard of the Escape from Alcatraz Triathlon! However, when others hear the words escape and Alcatraz, the image of the federal prison sitting on “the rock” in San Francisco Bay comes to mind.

The Alcatraz Federal Penitentiary once housed some of the most dangerous criminals in its extremely well-protected prison, and what shocked many was the number of men that attempted to escape. These prisoners had to not only escape, but then attempt to swim to land. Crazy? We thought so. What if we told you that every year over 8,000 men and women throw their names in the Escape from Alcatraz Triathlon hat, hoping to be chosen to participate?

We present, Could You Handle the Escape from Alcatraz Triathlon? The Peek: A Behind-the-Scenes Podcast by AfterShokz, where we take you behind the curtain to get the inside scoop on some of the most premier endurance events.

In this second installment of The Peek, we’re exploring what it takes to produce an event that not only has a famously intense swim but is followed by unforgiving climbs on the bike, topped off with a brutal run to the finish line. In this episode, you’ll hear stories from Andy Potts, 6-time winner of Escape from Alcatraz, along with Race Director Bill Burke, and his tale of the legendary swim cancellation.

Whether you’re a swimmer, cyclist, or runner (or all three!) - we know you will love listening to the inspirational and intense story of putting on the Escape from Alcatraz Triathlon.

We hope you enjoy Episode 2 of The Peek!
