Welcome to "Building a Home For God," the latest episode of our podcast series. In this episode, we explore Exodus 38:21-31 and delve into the significance of the Tabernacle's construction and the costs associated with it. Join us as we uncover spiritual insights and lessons we can learn from the pricing of the Tabernacle.

In the opening segment, we ponder the question of how much it would cost in today's money to build the Tabernacle, considering the value of materials such as gold, silver, bronze, wood, and linen. We discover that Moses, too, was interested in this question, as he concludes the blueprint of the Tabernacle by providing the price of everything.

Throughout the discussion, we draw spiritual insights from the construction of the Tabernacle. We learn that when God wants to accomplish something, He requires people and resources, both in terms of materials and finances. Just as the Israelites willingly gave their possessions for the construction, we are reminded of the importance of dedicating our possessions to the work of the Lord. Furthermore, we explore the idea that building a relationship with God also carries a cost, one of obedience and commitment to His commandments.

We conclude the episode by highlighting the lavishness with which God built His house and how it reflects His ability to provide abundantly for His people. While acknowledging that some churches may spend excessively on buildings, we emphasize the importance of investing in God's house while being responsible stewards of resources. Ultimately, we emphasize that while salvation is free, building a relationship with the Lord requires dedication and obedience, which in turn leads to experiencing the extras and benefits of knowing Him intimately.

Join us in this thought-provoking episode as we consider the significance of the Tabernacle's construction, the cost of building God's house, and the rewards of a deep relationship with Him. Discover how you can go beyond the basic salvation package and embrace the extras that come with knowing and walking with God.

Welcome to "How To Build a Relationship with God," the latest episode of our podcast series. In this episode, we explore the blueprint for developing a relationship with God found in Exodus 37:1-38:20. Just like building a house, constructing a relationship with the Lord requires a design to follow. Surprisingly, the Bible provides a symbolic blueprint for this in the construction of the Tabernacle.

Throughout the episode, various New Testament Bible verses are referenced to support the teachings, including John 14:6, 1 John 1:9, Romans 8:26, 34, Hebrews 7:25, and Hebrews 4:15-16. By following the blueprint found in the Tabernacle and understanding the significance of Christ's role in our relationship with God, we can build a strong and meaningful connection with Him.

We hope this episode provides valuable insights and reminders on how to build and nurture your relationship with God. Stay tuned for more inspiring episodes coming soon.

Welcome to the podcast episode titled "Blessed Beyond All Measure (Exodus 36:2-38)." In this episode, we delve into a passage from the Bible that may seem mundane at first glance but holds valuable insights.

All scripture, including this passage, is profitable, as emphasized by the apostle Paul in 2 Timothy 3:16-17. Although some sections may not initially captivate our attention, we should take seriously the notion that all scripture carries value and purpose.

Exodus 36 begins with Moses calling Bezalel and Aholiab, along with other gifted artisans, to work on the construction of the Tabernacle. As we proceed through the chapter, we witness the construction of the Tabernacle itself.

Throughout this chapter, we are reminded of the importance of following God's instructions, just as the Israelites did. By doing what God tells us to do, we can experience immeasurable blessings. We should strive to win people to Christ, baptize them, and place them in a community of believers—a church—where they can grow in faith through the teaching of God's Word. It is crucial to recognize that faithfully engaging in God's work, both as individuals and as a church community, will lead to blessings beyond measure. We need not resort to manipulative tactics or pressures to receive contributions. Instead, by simply obeying God's instructions, we open ourselves to His abundant provision.

Let us not underestimate the significance of our actions as believers. By faithfully following God's guidance, we can be conduits of blessings to others and participate in the establishment of His kingdom on Earth. May we embrace the call to make disciples, baptize them, and gather in communities of faith, trusting that God's blessings will surpass our wildest imaginations.

Thank you for joining us in this episode as we explore the profound insights within Exodus 36. May we all be blessed beyond measure as we faithfully follow God's instructions and engage in His work.

Welcome to the podcast episode "Building Something God's Way" based on Exodus 35:1-36:1. In this episode, we will explore the process of fundraising and construction when it comes to building a place of worship. We will examine how God instructed Moses to raise funds for the construction of the Tabernacle and the importance of willing and cheerful giving.

    Episode Notes:

    • Introduction:

Fundraising is an essential part of building projects in churches. The question arises: How would the Lord raise funds to build a building? Exodus 35 provides insights into how God raised money for the Tabernacle.
God commands the people not to work on the Sabbath, including building His house. Rest and observance of the Sabbath are essential even during the construction process. The people are instructed to give willingly and with a willing heart. Tithing is not mentioned; the emphasis is on voluntary and joyful giving.
Moses gathers the congregation and instructs them to bring offerings for the Tabernacle. Various materials such as gold, silver, bronze, fabrics, skins, and wood are requested. Men and women, those with skills and artisans, all contribute willingly and generously. The emphasis is on free-will offerings and contributions from the heart.
The Spirit of Giving is discussed The New Testament emphasizes giving with a willing heart and purpose. Generosity, cheerfulness, and willingness are valued over obligatory tithing. The importance of both material and non-material contributions is highlighted.
    Conclusion.
Whether giving money, time, or talent, a willing and cheerful attitude is most pleasing to God.

We hope this episode encourages you to embrace a willing and cheerful spirit in your giving and understand the importance of contributing to the work of the Lord in all aspects. Remember, God loves a cheerful giver.

Episode Notes: The Renewal of the Promise of God (Exodus 34: 1-35)
See Transcript for full Scripture Text.
In today's episode, we will explore Exodus chapter 34. This chapter highlights an essential spiritual truth: while sin may break our fellowship with God, it does not sever our relationship with Him. We will examine how this truth is illustrated through the story of the children of Israel in the book of Exodus.

In chapter 33, we witnessed the Israelites' sin of idolatry, which led to the loss of their fellowship with God. However, Moses remained faithful and maintained an intimate relationship with the Lord. Chapter 34 reveals more about what transpired after the Israelites' sin. Despite their disobedience, God remained merciful and faithful. This sets the stage for the renewal of the covenant depicted in this chapter, emphasizing that sin does not destroy our relationship with God.

The episode emphasizes God's faithfulness and willingness to renew His promises, even in the face of human failures. It also reveals important insights into God's character and the attributes we should strive to emulate. Let us remember that righteousness without love is judgmental, and love without righteousness is sentimentality. By pursuing a balance of righteousness and love, we reflect the character of God and fulfill His purposes in our lives.

We hope you find this exploration of Exodus chapter 34 enlightening and encouraging. Don't forget to check the episode notes page for the complete text of the chapter.

Welcome to "Re-establishing Fellowship," the latest episode of, 'The Bible Project daily Podcast'. In this episode, we explore the consequences of sin and its impact on our relationship with the Lord, focusing on Exodus 33:1-23.

Sin has far-reaching consequences, affecting not only us but also those around us. When we sin, it breaks fellowship with God, disrupting our intimate connection with Him. The story in Exodus 33 vividly illustrates the aftermath of the Israelites' worship of the golden calf in Exodus 32.

After the incident with the golden calf, God tells Moses to lead the people to the promised land, but He will not go with them. This marks a revision in God's original plan, where He intended to dwell among the Israelites in the tabernacle. However, due to their sin, God refuses to accompany them on their journey to Canaan. In this passage, we witness the stark contrast between the strained relationship of the Israelites with God and the close fellowship Moses enjoys. While the people lost their intimate connection with the Lord, Moses continues to commune with Him face to face, as a man speaks to his friend.

This passage reveals that sin disrupts fellowship with God but does not totally sever the relationship. The Israelites lost their intimate connection with the Lord, while Moses maintained it. Fellowship with God involves speaking to Him and receiving His truth, which is now conveyed through His Word.

As we conclude this episode, let us remember the words of Philippians 4:6-7: "Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus."

Thank you for joining us today, and may you seek to maintain a close relationship with the Lord, experiencing His peace and grace in your life.

Welcome to Season 5 Episode 42: "The Golden Calf Part 2 – Avoiding the Judgement of God"

Welcome back to another enlightening episode of our 'The Bible project daily Podcast'. In our previous episode, we delved into the fascinating story of the Golden Calf, exploring the consequences of the Israelites' disobedience and the subsequent actions of Moses. Today, we continue our journey through Exodus 32:15-35, unravelling the intricacies of blame-shifting, intercession, and the lessons we can learn from this biblical account. So, sit back, relax, and let's dive into the heart of this extraordinary tale.

    Episode Notes:

    Introduction:

    • Recap of the previous episode, highlighting the events leading up to Moses' descent from Mount Sinai.
    • Mention of Joshua's presence and his interpretation of the sounds emanating from the camp.

    Moses' Anger and Actions:

    • Description of Moses' reaction upon witnessing the people's idolatrous festivities around the golden calf.
    • Symbolic significance of Moses breaking the stone tablets, representing the spiritual brokenness caused by the people's transgressions.
    • Moses' act of burning and grinding the golden calf, compelling the Israelites to consume it as a tangible consequence of their sin.

    Blame-Shifting and Aaron's Deception:

    • Analysis of Aaron's response to Moses' inquiry, where he deflects blame onto the people rather than accepting responsibility for his role in the golden calf's creation.
    • Comparison to Adam and Eve's blame-shifting in the Garden of Eden, showcasing the human tendency to rationalize and shift accountability.
    • Aaron's further deception, claiming that the golden calf miraculously formed itself when the gold was cast into the fire.

    Consequences and Levites' Intervention:

    • The unrestrained behavior of the people and Moses' call for those on the Lord's side to gather.
    • The Levites' response, their allegiance to God, and their subsequent role in executing judgment on the rebellious Israelites.
    • The discussion around the severity and mercy displayed in God's punishment, as well as the subsequent blessing bestowed upon the faithful Levites.

    Moses' Intercession and Negotiation:

    • Moses' realization of the people's sin and his plea to God for forgiveness and atonement.
    • Moses' willingness to sacrifice himself for the people, echoing the selflessness and love displayed by Jesus in his ultimate sacrifice.
    • God's responses to Moses' intercession, including the refusal of his offer to be blotted out of God's book, the instruction to lead the people to the promised land, and the forgiveness combined with the infliction of a plague.

    The Principle of Individual Responsibility:

    • Examination of the principle behind immediate and severe judgment for the first act of disobedience, emphasizing the importance of accountability and learning from the consequences.
    • A parallel drawn to the account of Ananias and Sapphira in the book of Acts, where swift judgment was similarly enacted.
    • Reflection on the human inclination to sin, the need for correction, and the value of early consequences to discourage repeated transgressions.

    Conclusion:
I think this passage in Exodus reminds us to be spiritually vigilant and aligned with God, acknowledging that He sees all our actions, even when we think we are hidden from view. It is also an encouragement to emulate Moses' intercessory spirit and intervene when others stray from the Lord's path, guiding them toward repentan

    Episode Notes:
The Golden Calf Part 1 - When the Cats Away the Mice will Play (Exodus 32 1-14)
Welcome to the episode. Today we explore the famous saying, "When the cat is away, the mice will come out to play," and its relevance to a story from the Old Testament.

The saying reflects the idea that when those in authority are absent, subordinates tend to indulge in unruly behavior and break the rules. We witness this principle in action in the story of the Golden Calf from Exodus. Moses had ascended Mount Sinai to receive instructions from the Lord, leaving the Israelites waiting for his return.

Impatient and uncertain of Moses' fate, the Israelites decided to take matters into their own hands. They approached Aaron, Moses' brother and one of the leaders of Israel, with a request to make gods to go before them. Aaron, surprisingly, agreed to their request and fashioned a golden calf from the people's earrings. The Israelites then engaged in sacrificial offerings, feasting, and revelry, signifying their departure from the true worship of God. Aaron's actions mimicked the covenant affirmation ceremonies conducted by Moses, but they were contrary to God's will. The calf represented the Lord on their terms, allowing them to worship according to their desires.

God, observing the Israelites' idolatry and their departure from His commandments, expressed His anger. He told Moses that he intended to consume them in His wrath. But Moses pleaded with the Lord, presenting three arguments: the people were God's chosen ones, destroying them would tarnish God's reputation, and it would violate God's promise to multiply the descendants of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. In response to Moses' intercession, God relented and changed His mind, sparing the Israelites from destruction. This showcases the flexibility within God's plan and the impact of prayer and repentance on His decisions.

Join us tomorrow for the continuation of this story in Part 2 of "The Golden Calf," where we delve deeper into the consequences and lessons from this event.

Should We Observe the Sabbath Laws (Exodus 31.12-18)
Welcome to this episode of our podcast, where we will be exploring the topic of observing the Sabbath laws based on Exodus 31:12-18. This passage raises important questions about whether believers in Jesus Christ should continue to observe the Sabbath maybe even worshiping on Saturdays instead of Sundays.

In Exodus 31, Moses is on Mount Sinai receiving instructions from the Lord. The passage begins by emphasizing the significance of the Sabbath as a sign between God and the people of Israel. It symbolizes their unique relationship with Him and their separation from other nations. Observing the Sabbath was considered crucial to Israel's spirituality, and failure to do so could result in severe consequences, including death.

The Sabbath, along with other covenants in the Bible, serves as a sign of God's covenant relationship with His people. The Noahic covenant had the sign of the rainbow, the Abrahamic covenant had circumcision, and the Mosaic covenant had the Sabbath. The New Covenant, which believers in Jesus Christ are under, is marked by the sign of the Lord's Supper or communion.

So, should believers in Jesus Christ observe the Sabbath? The New Testament provides insight into this question. In Romans 14:5-6, Paul encourages believers to honour the day they consider holy to the Lord, recognizing that some may observe certain days while others do not. Furthermore, the apostle Paul emphasizes in Colossians 2:16-17 that the Sabbath was a shadow of things to come, and the substance is found in Christ.

Ultimately, the Sabbath carries deep symbolic and historical significance, but it is important to understand its fulfilment in Jesus Christ. Through His life, death, and resurrection, Jesus brought a new covenant, and believers are called to rest in Him and find their Sabbath rest in His finished work.

As we explore this topic further, we will consider the implications in light of the New Covenant and the teachings of Jesus and the early church. Understanding the true essence of the Sabbath will help us navigate how we honour and worship God in our lives today.

Join us on this journey as we dive deeper into the biblical principles surrounding the observance of the Sabbath and how it applies to our faith and daily lives.

Episode Notes: How to Serve God with Your Gifts and Talents (Exodus 31:1-11)

Welcome to another episode of our podcast, where we explore the teachings of the Bible and their relevance to our lives. In today's episode, we will discuss the topic of serving the Lord with our gifts and talents, focusing on Exodus 31:1-11. Often, when we think about serving the Lord, we associate it with individuals who possess special spiritual gifts like teaching, preaching, or evangelism. However, this passage sheds light on the talents and gifts necessary to serve the Lord effectively.
Todays passage and study will hopefully demonstrates that the filling of the Holy Spirit was a sovereign act of God for a specific service in the Old Testament but in the examples of John the Baptist, Elizabeth, and Zacharias in the Gospel of Luke illustrate this connection between the filling of the Spirit and prophetic utterances. In the Book of Acts, the crowd on the day of Pentecost and Peter are also mentioned as being filled with the Spirit, leading to the proclamation of God's message.

To serve the Lord effectively, we need two things: a basic talent or natural ability and the filling of the Holy Spirit. While spiritual gifts, as described in the New Testament, are supernatural abilities for spiritual functions, talents are ordinary skills that can be empowered by the Holy Spirit to serve the Lord. Our occupations and talents can be utilized in service to God when they contribute to the well-being of others or society.

Serving the Lord with our gifts and talents is not limited to those with extraordinary spiritual abilities. God calls individuals with various natural talents and skills to fulfil His purposes. By aligning our talents with God's will and seeking the filling of the Holy Spirit, we can effectively serve the Lord and impact others through our work.

Remember, whatever you do, do it heartily as unto the Lord. Join us in the next episode as we continue to explore the teachings of the Bible and their application to our lives.
