    Episode 781 | #ItsOkayToBeWhite? | Biden's Republican VP Pick | Neera Tanden and the Waning Influencers Dec 31, 2019
    Show notes

    Episode 781 |
    --
At least twice a year, a group of white, conservative, men and the white women who love them -- plus Candace Owens -- come together to celebrate their collective victimhood and oppression at the hands of Black and Brown, gay and trans, atheist and agnostics. Because as we all know, the most marginalized group in our country are white, Christian men who somehow have the most economic and political power of all other groups combined.
    --
Joe Biden says that he'd be willing to pick a Republican as a VP/running mate. Need I say more?
    --
Neera Tanden has been, for some time, one of the most influential Democratic operatives in the nation. Today she is trending on Twitter and I believe it's because she's absolutely terrified of losing that influence to a rag-tag group of progressives.

Another day, another shooting. This time a shooter took the lives of two churchgoers during communion.
    --
Andrew Yang's latest commercial claims he's supporting Medicare for All when his actual plans don't even support a public option. What's going on here?
    --
An antisemitic attack in New York has led to accusations of anti-Semitism against Bernie Sanders. Let's unpack this weird contortion of logic.
    --
Boots on the Ground. I'm thinking of discussing with my partners evolving Progressive Army into a team of volunteers who will be sent to assist organizers in their own city. What do you think?

Episode 779 | Bloomberg's Exploited Prison Labor | Farmers Devastated By Tariffs Stand By Trump Dec 27, 2019
    Show notes

    Episode 779 |
    --
The Intercept exposed billionaire presidential candidate, Michael Bloomberg, for using prison labor to make phone calls for his campaign. The use of prison labor for profit is nothing new. But the fact that a billionaire running for president has been caught exploiting that labor is amazingly apropos.
    --
The Washington Post details a story of a struggling dairy farm family fighting to survive amid changes in demand for their product but very directly because of Donald Trump's trade war. But despite the direct impact of his policies, the barriers to getting assistance, and the concentration of the farm bailout going to the top 10%, these farmers are standing by their man.

Episode 778 | Joe Biden Will Lose | Trump Evangelicals: The Theological Descendants of Slave Owners Dec 24, 2019

I'm getting over a cold and sound pretty ridiculous. Just wanted you to know. lol
    --
Listen, Joe Biden is going to lose to Donald Trump. Anyone telling you otherwise is being grossly irresponsible with the future of our country and our planet.
    --
In response to Christianity Today coming out against Donald Trump, the Christian Post (another magazine) has come out to defend Donald Trump. This has led to the resignation of their editor. Let's discuss this.

Have a great holiday, Christmas, a day off -- whatever you celebrate or don't celebrate, enjoy some time with friends and family. And if you don't have friends or family, come hang out with me on Twitter.

Episode 777 | Wine Cave Pete Fights Back | Stormzy: UK 100% Racist | 200:1 Ratio Evangelicals Back Trump Dec 23, 2019
    Show notes

    Episode 777 |
    --
Pete is pushing back against the wine cave issue. But Axios just released a story showing that Pete is doing exactly what everyone is concerned with: selling influence to rich donors.
    --
UK artist, Stormzy, just called the UK 100% racist. Ironically, some of the same people pushing back against him called the Labour party racist. Centrists, no matter where you find them, know how to weaponize calling people racist but conveniently ignore it when it's their own.
    --
200:1. 200 pastors signed a letter decrying Christianity Today which, so far, is the only major group of conservative evangelicals who dared to call out Donald Trump. 200:1 ratio.

Christianity Today is a magazine founded by Billy Graham. The editor-in-chief has written an op-ed calling for the removal of Trump from office. Franklin Graham and Donald Trump both respond exactly the way you'd expect.

Episode 775 | Donald Trump Impeached | Tulsi Votes "Present" | ACA Under Attack Again Dec 19, 2019
    Show notes

    Episode 775
    --
Donald Trump is now the third American president to be impeached. And while he stands no chance of being found guilty and removed from office, this was a necessary step to protect American democracy and will be an indelible stain on his legacy.
    --
Tulsi Gabbard is the only congressperson to not take a stand one way or the other on the impeachment of Donald Trump. This didn't play out the way she had hoped.
    --
The Affordable Care Act is a conservative idea that upholds everything Republicans ever wanted in a healthcare plan. And yet, they have stopped at nothing to destroy it. A new court ruling may give them what they seek.

Episode 774 | Justice Gorsuch on Fox | Dem Primary Polling | Trump's Unhinged Letter | The Black Vote Dec 18, 2019

    Episode 774 |
    --
New Democratic polling shows increases for Bernie Sanders. Sanders is the most popular Democrat in the field. So let's discuss why the political establishment hates the man who the people love so much.
    --
Donald Trump sends Nancy Pelosi an unhinged letter that should terrify every American. Yet, we've become used to his democracy-destabilizing behavior.
    --
Supreme Court justice Neil Gorsuch went on the most partisan network to do a promotional for his book. While on Fox News, Gorsuch took the time to discuss how stupid Americans are and the so-called War on Christmas.

Finally, the Black vote may not be here to save a party that makes them an afterthought.

Episode 773 | Insulin Prices Double | Workers Pay Higher Taxes Than Corporations | Voter Purges Dec 17, 2019
    Show notes

    Episode 773 |
Insulin costs only $6 to produce, but the price of insulin is doubling yet again. Why on earth do we allow profit companies to extort the most vulnerable? This is the norm in America and we have to change our way of thinking.
    --
New report shows that workers, not corporations, pay a higher percentage in taxes to the gov't. This is by design and, yet, another thing that we have to change the mindset of the people over.
    --
Voter purges are spreading across the country again -- this time in Wisconsin and Georgia. I know this question has been asked a thousand times, but I must pose it again: if voting didn't matter, why has so much energy been invested into keeping you from voting?
    --
After we vote in a progressive President, senators, and congresspeople, we have to fund progressive think tanks and media. That's the only way we can come from behind and push us towards the future.

Episode 772 | ACA Sticker Shock | Dem Establishment Pick Turns Republican | Cenk | Identity Politix Dec 16, 2019
    Show notes

    Episode 772 |

The real problem with Obamacare is that it didn't address the profit motive in the insurance industry.

New Jersey freshman Congressman Jeff Van Drew was the pick of the Democratic Establishment and the DCCC. The establishment jumped into the primaries to prop him up and suppressed a Black woman progressive. Well, Jeff Van Drew is converting to the Republican Party.
    --
Bernie Sanders retracts his endorsement of Cenk from TYT. It's a big mess and it sucks. But part of me feels like they should have had foresight enough to know this was going to happen.
    --
Looks like I need to address weaponized identity politics again.
