Republicans Will Burn This Country To The Ground if We Don't Fight Back Like Hell.
Part 1 - Our Vote Doesn’t Matter to Them - We Can’t Capitulate (00:26)
“Do you see what’s happening? That’s exactly what’s happening. They’re willing to recognize the election when they win, but they completely disregard it as illegal if they lose. The Republicans have pushed us into a corner. I couldn’t really say this on Twitter today because it required context, lest I get a call from the Secret Service. But Malcolm X said, you either give us the ballot or the... “
“We need to let them know that we are not playing around, and if they steal our votes, then why do we have any responsibility to recognize America’s laws anymore, or this American political system?”
Part 2 - It’s Like an Abusive Relationship (22:37)
“It’s important for us to really understand the score. We are at a juncture in American history when Republicans have made the calculus that all they have to do is ignore every law, every norm, every institution, everything—if they ignore it then they can obtain and maintain power. They have absolutely no regard for the law, and yet they cry, ‘Law and Order!’”
“What they do is they gaslight you. It’s like being in an abusive relationship. If anybody in this audience has been in an abusive relationship, you will understand exactly what I’m getting ready to say... It is exactly like an abusive relationship. It is like being in a relationship where your significant other cheated on you and wants to make you feel guilty because you didn’t cook dinner right for them...They are going to gaslight you and make you second guess whether or not the media should have called this election or not.”
Part 3 You Wanna Disregard My Right to Vote? I’ll Disregard Your Right to Govern. (40:46)
“I’ve been saying the preamble to the constitution since I was in the second grade. When I got out of college, I bought the entire series on the US presidents. I bought into all that white supremacist interpretation of American history line hook and sinker, and I believed. You should not have indoctrinated me to the point where I actually believed that I was American. But now that I do believe that I’m American, I dare you to try to ignore my right to vote by saying its an illegal ballot because it’s inconvenient for the ego of Donald Trump.”
“You wanna disregard my right to vote? I’ll disregard your right to govern.”
