Tonight we talk about the success of her "kits" and how they are very unique and not many other places do these. We will also talk about Thanksgiving side dishes, how to quick thaw a turkey (if you're late) favorite ways to cook a turkey and what to cook that's different then the norm!

One of the best competition cooks to ever light a fire, Travis Clark, joins me to lead off the 2nd hour. Over the past handful of years, only two teams have won the KCBS team of the year title, and Travis is one of those teams (Gettin' Basted is the other). Tonight we talk about any thoughts he has on the 2023 American Royal fiasco, the limited 2023 competition season he's run and we'll look into 2024 and see if he has any interest (or time) to make another run for team of the year. Aside from competitions, Travis has turned into quite a successful restaurateur and business person. Aside from the Clark Crew BBQ brand, he has also gotten into a line of sports bars that will allow him to showcase his other food expertise as well. Travis has never been short on opinions

What Happened At The 2023 American Royal Open Nov 08, 2023

9:14pm & 9:35pm - In the first hour tonight I will be joined by the CEO of the Kansas City Barbeque Society, Rod Gray. About 5 weeks ago, there was a scoring issue during the American Royal competition that was unlike any other in the history of KCBS competition BBQ. Wrong winners were announced, places up and down the list adjusted and teams want to know what happened, why it happened and what is being done to ensure that this won't happen again, not only at this event, but at all other competitions across the country. Yes, there have been other interviews with Rod over the past few weeks but there were very important questions that were left unasked for whatever reason. Tonight, we make the time to dig into the most important questions and see if answers will be given. I hope you take the time to tune in live tonight and listen for yourself.

Mention The BBQ Central Show for 10% off your entire order!!___________________________________________Taking you back to - 11/04/2008 - This week we feature one of the best competition cooks to ever light a pit…Rob “Rub” Bagby of Swamp Boys BBQ. Rub was an FBA president, multiple time FBA TOTY winner and also did very well when he competed in the KCBS contests. Rub eventually got into the sauce manufacturing and selling business and has (3) different flavors of sauce which you can still buy to this day. In this segment we talked a lot about a contest that no longer exists…called the Best of the Best that was put on by now NBBQA owner, Kell and Janet Phelps. If you are newer to the competition seen…BOTB was unique in the fact that it was an event that drew competitors form all different sanctioning bodies…it also took rules from different sanctioning bodies as well…there was an invitational event and an open event…Best of the Best ran for a number of years and many considered it to be a “major contest” to win during the heyday of competition BBQ…remember…we are going back 15 years ago. So if you aren’t familiar with Rub or Best of the Best…here’s a good taster for both…make sure you go and grab the whole episode as well using the link in the show notes!
