    The Barbless.co Fly Fishing Podcast

Join Hogan Brown and Chad Alderson for honest conversations about fly fishing, the people who shape it, and what keeps us coming back to the water.

The Barbless.co Fly Fishing Podcast brings guides, biologists, conservationists, craftspeople, and fellow anglers together to share what they’ve learned. We get into fish behavior, reading water, tying flies, fisheries, and the decisions that make a difference on the river. Along the way, there are fishing stories, plenty of laughs, and the occasional detour into life beyond the boat ramp.

We’re here to ask better questions, build our skills, and take better care of the fish and places we love. Whether you’re figuring out your first drift or have spent decades guiding others, there’s always more to learn.

    Know better. Fish better.

Stillwater Fly Fishing Secrets - Hal Janssen Jul 31, 2018
    Show notes

"Since the inception of fly-fishing centuries ago, Stillwater has always been viewed as the backseat of the sport. Janssen Learning to fly fish a lake can be like sitting down at a 10,000 piece puzzle, one lake can take two lifetimes to learn. Listen in as the Fly-Fishing Hall of Fame inductee, Hal Janssen, breaks down his life in the fly fishing world as well as his amazing book which contains fishing secrets that every angler should know before hitting his or hers local stillwater.
