Show notes

Welcome to Bamgboshe Happy Hour 🍸✨
Hosted by Peju Bamgboshe Rothlisberger & Naomi Bamgboshe

This episode is all about biopics—and the chaos behind them 👀

We kick things off with a toast and then dive straight into the Michael Jackson biopic Michael, which just made history with a $217.4 million global opening. From record-breaking numbers to audience reactions, we break down why this film is dominating—and what it gets right vs. what it leaves out.

Then we zoom out into the bigger conversation:
👉 Why are people so obsessed with biopics?
👉 Why do some become iconic… while others completely fall apart?

From nostalgia and music-driven emotion to casting controversies and “sanitized” storytelling—we unpack how biopics work (and don’t work).

And then… it’s time for the signature segment:
🔥 Best vs Worst Biopics CHAOS RANKING

We run through:
🏆 The Top 20 best music biopics (Ray, Selena, Elvis, Bohemian Rhapsody & more)
🎖️ Powerful honorable mentions like Introducing Dorothy Dandridge and Respect
❌ And the most controversial, miscast, and chaotic biopics ever made (yes… Gotti, Nina, Blonde—we said it 👀)

🎯 Final Take:

Biopics aren’t just movies—they’re about legacy, memory, and control of the narrative.

Because at the end of the day, every biopic is asking:
👉 How do we choose to remember icons?

🎧 Tune in, sip something good, and join the conversation.
