She owns an online store and brand called Cancel Snapback Culture, which is founded on the idea that women don't need to rush to bounce back to their pre-baby bodies. CSC is about knocking down society's expectations of women, leaving us free to fly and be who we want to be. CSC helps support the Shades of Blue Project which is an organization that prioritizes the mental health of black mothers who are more likely to suffer from serious complications during and after childbirth. Dr. Sarah has published 13 peer-reviewed medical research articles and her resume/CV can only be described as a small novel. I am so honored to have this conversation with her! As you'll hear in the episode, Dr. Sarah is passionate about all of her patients (and all people, for that matter!) making informed decisions.
As she puts it so eloquently, "I want people to come with questions and I want my patients to feel like they're involved in their care. And I'm so done with the paternalistic days of medicine where some doctor just tells you what to do and take this drug and go on with your self. I want you to go and learn and ask and know about your body."
