    Toronto Maple Leafs, LA Kings & Carolina Hurricanes a win away from round two, Montreal awarded the first pick, but New Jersey is the big winner at the draft lottery May 11, 2022

    Rob Pizzo from CBC Sports and Jesse Granger from the Athletic recap game 5 wins in Toronto and Carolina, and for St. Louis in Minnesota and Los Angeles in Edmonton, ahead of three game fives this evening, including the Penguins at the Rangers in an elimination game, and Washington/Florida and Dallas/Calgary which are tied at two games.

    The boys welcome the Athletic's Shayna Goldman who discusses the NHL draft lottery which sees the Montreal Canadiens retain the top pick, with the New Jersey Devils moving up to 2nd. Lou Lamoriello's archaic way of running the New York Islanders, the Edmonton Oilers management failure to solidify McDavid and Draisaitl with a solution between the pipes in Oil country and if Tom Fitzgerald might be interested in moving the 2nd overall pick.

    Plus Rob gets Jesse's opinion on the Vezina, Norris and Calder trophy finalists, and the power of the intermission speech on the heels of Jason Spezza's passionate pleas to his teammates in Toronto.

    Lou Lamoriello fires Barry Trotz as New York Islanders head coach, Stanley Cup playoffs first round storylines, Josh Yohe joins the show to talk Pittsburgh Penguins, Multiple Choice Madness, and more May 09, 2022

    First, Ian and guest cohost Julian McKenzie dive into Monday morning’s breaking news that New York Islanders GM Lou Lamoriello fired head coach Barry Trotz after four seasons behind the Isles bench.


    Then, the guys discuss a number of storylines from the first week of Stanley Cup playoffs action, including the high-scoring blowouts occurring seemingly every night, the Toronto Sun’s Steve Simmons asking Toronto Maple Leafs head coach Sheldon Keefe a loaded question about Justin Holl, Rod Brind’Amour’s ire over a non-goalie interference call in Game 4, Tony DeAngelo throwing his stick at Brad Marchand as he scored into an empty net, as well as thoughts on the upcoming NHL Draft Lottery set for Tuesday night.

    Gary Bettman says playoff format won't change, backup goalies aplenty in round 1, and spicy pork and broccoli May 05, 2022

    Ian and Sean discuss Gary Bettman's comments on the NHL's playoff format from Wednesday night, and if there would be benefits to changing seedings or adding a play-in system.     Rob, Sara and Jesse discuss an exciting 2nd night of the playoffs, led by the Penguins triple OT win over New York, Florida's 3rd period collapse over Washington, Calgary's shutout win over Dallas and Colorado's dismantling of Nashville.

    The roundtable looks ahead to Wednesday's games including Boston looking to even up their series with Carolina, Tampa looking to rebound over Toronto, Mike Smith attempting to redeem himself and his Oiler teammates vs the Kings and Marc-Andre Fleury getting the start again for the Wild vs the Blues.

    Andrew Ladd of the Arizona Coyotes joins the roundtable to discuss his 1616 foundation which focuses on mental, physical and social wellbeing for young hockey players aged 10-12 years, and the people who support them.

    Ladd also looks back on playing his 1000th NHL game, shares stories of past playoffs and gives his opinion on the first two nights of this years playoff.

    Custance and Gentille look back on night one of the Stanley Cup playoffs, dissecting game one wins for Toronto, Edmonton, Carolina and St. Louis. The Leafs dominated Tampa Bay, Mike Smith's gaff handed LA an upset win over Edmonton, Antti Raanta solidified the Hurricanes concerns in net over Boston and David Perron turned back the clock to lead St. Louis over Minnesota.

    In segment two, the boys welcome the Athletic's Shayna Goldman who helps u preview four more series debuting Tuesday evening including two lopsided series with Colorado hosting Nashville and Calgary facing Dallas and the leagues top team the Florida Panthers hosting Alex Ovechkin and the Washington Capitals and Sidney Crosby's Pittsburgh Penguins battling Igor Shesterkin's New York Rangers.
