Show notes

On Monday afternoon, Jerod and Coach Adragna were joined by former Michigan basketball player and current Big Ten analyst Ant Wright to preview Tuesday night's big matchup in Ann Arbor. (The Ant conversation starts around the 25:00 mark.)

Among the topics discussed:

• Why the individual trajectories of Kel'el, Malik, and Mackenzie are all positive ... even if the lineup construction is still imperfect.

• What's up with Indiana's guards? What does Trey Galloway need to do for Indiana to take the next step?

• Is Indiana's defensive philosophy at odds with Mike Woodson's desire to play faster?

• What are the key matchups for Tuesday night's game?

• Why Michigan's defense has been so bad this season.

• Ant's surprising choice for best freshmen class in the Big Ten.

• Other thoughts from around the conference

IU-Louisville Empire Classic Postgame Show Nov 21, 2023

Show notes

The Hoosiers closed out Louisville 74-66. IU nearly put the Cards away early in the second half. However, the team from Kentucky turned the tables after that and took a late lead. However, IU coach Mike Woodson switched to a zone to stifle UL in the last few minutes and Indiana closed out the contest late with near-perfect FT shooting.

IU-UConn Empire Classic Postgame Show Nov 20, 2023

Show notes

In episode #980 of The Assembly Call, we break down Indiana's 77-57 loss to UConn. On mic: Jerod, Coach, and our student intern Josh Pos (who was live at Madison Square Garden).

There were many issues in this game for Indiana: lack of guard production, poor rebounding, stagnant offense, and a collapse over the final 10 minutes. One key second half play seemed to change the game for good.

But there were a few positives to discuss as well, most notably the play of Malik Reneau and CJ Gunn.

We break it all down on this edition of The Assembly Call, with a quick turnaround coming tomorrow as Indiana faces Louisville.
